Loses Track

A basic app in desperate need of an update. It’s clearly not logging my progress. Time to switch to another app.

Great when it doesn’t crash

Great app, except that it frequently crashes on the Watch mid-workout, which causes the part of your workout up to the crash not to get recorded in iOS as part of your workout. This wrecks your health stats, not only the workout stats but also the classification of heart rate readings, heart rate recovery stats, etc. It used to be annoying, but recently it happens more often than it doesn’t.

Great app, simple and easy

Would love this app get a few updates been 3 years but still suits me the best, I had a bit of a review to see if there was anything better looked at about 40 apps none where as good for me.

Almost perfect, but really frustrating

Been using this app for years. Developer is an amazing designer, and I don’t know how others at the gym get by without it. Only frustration: if the Watch app crashes or closes during your workout (as it is want to do), the entire workout to that point is lost. So if the app crashes with 2 min left in your workout, only the last 2 minutes get recorded to Apple Health as a workout. This also means your other metrics like HR look wrong (e.g. that 100+ HR that now does not appear to have been during a workout). Only happens once a month or so, but it is VERY frustrating when it does.

Abandoned?

I’ve been using this app for over 9 years and don’t want to lose my workout history, but there hasn’t been an update in 2 years. Still works pretty well but wish it were more actively maintained and took advantage of latest iOS features. I’ve also been a premium subscriber for years and not sure what I am paying for. Going to look around at competitors.

Very good, could be better

Very good app, I pay for premium so get access to all the exercises on the app however there should be a function which allows for adding an exercise that doesn’t exist on there. For example glute bridge is not an exercise on there and you can’t add it anywhere.
Having said that, the app is still very good and integrates with Apple Watch and Fitness/health so you can track calories burned, heart rate etc.
Best app of its kind that I’ve found so far.

Pretty Good

Generally one of the best workout tracking apps. I just have a couple of gripes. I would like it to be easier to increment the weight of all sets of an exercise without having to do it for each one. Also, the “get workouts” button does nothing and just presents a blank pop-over.

Won’t work on watch

I downloaded this App specifically to track push ups and squats on my new Apple Watch. I set up a small program on my phone and when I opened the app on the watch, it just spun and locked up my watch. The only way to close the program on my watch was to Delete the app. I tried it a second time and same thing. Will look for another app for my watch.

Response from developer

Sorry to hear that. Sounds like a Watch Connectivity issue. Restarting your Apple Watch, and if necessary, your iPhone, should fix it.

Jumping Rope??

Why isn’t jump rope listed on the app? Considering it’s one of the absolute best forms of cardio there is, I figured it would be on the app.

I tried putting together a HIIT routine to warmup pre-workout that includes jumping rope and to my surprise it wasn’t on the app.

Is this something your team can add to the app?? Especially for paying subscribers.

Thanks

Subscription base model

In the description it says the app cost $.99, but it does not tell you that it cost $.99 per month. I hope you lose for making a subscription-based model app. I’d rather pay $20 one time for professional app than being milked slowly over time like I’m being slowly bled to death.

Update: With everything going to a subscription base models and sometime even after I paid full price for it, maybe you can forgive me for being very suspicious of an app that has any kind of subscription model built into it whatsoever. Subscription apps are going to be the death of us. Not only do we not own anything anymore, but they slowly add up at a point of almost having like another car payment each month.

Response from developer

The description actually says: "Reps & Sets Premium is available as a monthly subscription ($0.99/month)."
