You can remote turn on
Whilst not perfect I thought it important to note that things have changed since the one other reviews, or those reviewers were having technical difficulties. You certainly can remote turn on your fire with the app so long as you sign up for an account. The app lets you set temperature and two timers (on and off) which feels a little restrictive given most apps let you set daily timers Apple alarm clock style.
I do find that the app gets stuck on “refreshing” a lot, if it does you need to go back to my fires. Wait three seconds then open again.
The app could definitely do with an update, but it does work as intended and is a great feature along with the fire.

Restore remote activation!
I can no longer turn on the fire when I leave work so it’s warm when I get home - that’s the whole point of this app....
Good when it works
I hardly use this app because most of the time it doesn’t refresh and I end up wasting time deleting it, reinstalling it only to find it’s still not refreshing. Frustrating.

Doesn’t work remotely
From past review a year ago, you assume Escea will sort out their remote and server. Still the same , cannot login to their server to register the fireplace. Can’t control remotely, what’s the point of creating the app.
Remote app not usable when away from home
The app does not work when not on the local wifi network as the fire. This is contrary to what was originally promised alas. I understand this was possible in the past, but not anymore?
Bad design
The app works most of the times but the fact that there is difference between remote and local modes is a bit disappointing. Also a redesign and ability to add commands in Shortcuts could be very useful
Why?
The app only had one good feature, you could remotely turn on your fire away from home. With the new update it now can't even do that? For a premium fire brand your app is a disgrace.
Turn ON before arriving home?
The app works fine when using as remote at home on the WI FI network that the fireplace is connected to.
However this is not really that helpful because we have a Remote for at home use which was included in the fireplace.
What would be amazing would be to be able to TURN ON the fireplace when away from home using the phone network (3G / 4G)
To be able to be driving home and turn on the Fireplace to start preheating the house before we arrive home is essentially what i thought the app was for???
Yet it doesnt work that way :(

This app need some serious work
Worked fine for the first year then it had an update which has stopped the most useful feature it used to have! Only connects via wifi so you can’t turn the fire on out of your house which it used to do!
Would love the developers to sort his out!!!
