  • Very Limited

This app has the potential to be useful, since the “spaced repetition” function is in principle a good way to learn vocab. However it has no effective way to register known words. You must manually place each word in a higher “box”, which is tedious and slow, and even then you can only set it to reappear after a few minutes rather than a few seconds. (There are higher level “boxes” but for some reason these are not accessible.) Filtering the sample to only a particular frequency of occurrence helps to find your rough niveau, but this does not take account of your individual knowledge.

If the app were adapted to allow words to be instantly marked as “known” or “familiar”, it could be useful.

Lacks English > Greek functionality (vocab learning works best if this is mixed in), and does not give morphological information (verb principal parts, noun inflections, &c.).

  • Good but

    Hey Rob!

Thanks for your hard work. I wish I had the skill to make an app myself.

I submitted the idea for the root word to be displayed. U said that I would include it in the next update but it never showed. Can u let me know if it is still in your plans?

  • Great vocab tool but no pronunciation.

It's very good tool to learn new vocab. If it has the reading pronunciation, this would make this app perfect for new beginners, students and many bros and siss...
  • Great app to keep up with the languages!

Use it or loose it! I use this app to help me dig deep into the passages that I am preparing for the week. Parsing and knowing the Greek vocabulary helps marinate God's good Word into my mind and heart before I set them out for the feast on the Lord's Day.
  • Love it! I need audio for hebrew!

This app is sooo helpful !

Saved me hrs of input for a chapter I needed to make into flashcards... But this app would be PERFECT with some hebrew/Greek audio associated with each flashcard word :D I won't mind if it got the "add audio" myself feature ... (Another similar flashcard by this same developer seems to have it, I hope this will be in an update in the near future!

  • Great concept, buggy beyond use

The concept of the app is only missing dedicated vocabulary lists for beginning students. Otherwise, it's everything an exegete needs to keep up with his languages.

Unfortunately, the thing is so slow and crashes so often it's unusable.
  • Excellent app!

If you are a seminary student like myself, this app is invaluable. I highly recommend it.
  • Great App!

Perfect for use with the daily office. I love that you can do both parsing and vocab. Much prettier than the other vocab apps, which matters when you are staring at the same screen for hours on end.

It seems to be draining my battery a bit faster than expected...(iPhone 4S)

    Three additions needed:
    1. Add the lexical form to the word info on the parsing section and maybe principle parts if there is room.
    2. More options for studying the flagged cards (i.e. deleting individual cards, editing cards, folders, etc) At the moment this feature seems a bit half baked.
    3. The Septuagint translation for OT passages

  • Awesome App

This could be one of the best biblical Greek and Hebrew apps on the market today! The full version is only 3.99.

    Pros:

    1) lists can be created according to biblical books
    2) you can mark words that you don't know for study now or later
    3) the app includes words used under 10 occurrences (virtually unknown)
    4) though Metzger's official list is not an option, you easily create his lists by selecting a Matt 1:1 as start verse and Rev 22:21 as end verse and select the range of occurrences you need to study.
    5) aesthetic cards

    Con:
There may be more as I use the app more, but the only downside is that there are no premised lists...this is a problem in that there is no way to create lists according to the basic grammars for the Old and New Testaments. Adding this feature would seal the fact that this app is the best on the market.

  • Not for the OT language student

I got this and did a vocab review for Exodus 10
    1) the vocab is not in order
    2) it will only show me 10 words unless You pay for an upgrade
    3) there is no hebrew parsing yet OT grad students beware!

    I deleted from my phone
