Poor customer support response
I have three messages to support and have received mo response.
This app sometimes takes 2 to 4 minutes to respond. Very frustrating when trying to have a conversation. Works terrible when traveling in a vehicle even with a LTE connection. I have been using this app for 4 months now in Mexico. Sometimes it works great.Show lessFlybouy6654

I've used this software primarily as I've learned Mandarin but have also used it traveling in other countries. Works best if try to speak without slang or local expressions. Not the fault of this translation tool if you are not understood. I love this valuable tools!! Thanks folksshao zheng's dad
The best of the translation apps I’ve used...
Helping a college student from China figure out some of the complexities of an American college, I used this app. She had one, too, and I’m betting tried lots of others. Toward the end of our conversation she this. I’m used others, in many languages, with students, and this is my favorite. Highly recommended.Show lessiwoolman too
Carplay warning!
This is a good translator but beware that if your car has carplay and you plug your phone in to charge it, this app will not work until you unplug it. While most apps are not “CarPlay” compatible, this is the only app I have found two cease functioning while CarPlay is activated.
I have had difficulty getting the developers support personnel to understand that this is a bug and not the absence of a feature. If and when the bug is corrected I would give the app five stars because it does a very good job at translating in other conditions.
March 21, Update: The developer continues to misunderstand that this is not a compaitiblity issue with CarPlay but that his app no longer functions when carplay is plugged in. I've given up trying convince them of that. One more try, If your car has carplay and you plug your phone in to charge it, this app won't work period. Greetings, As we attempted to explain several time this is not a bug. We simply do not offer support to use the app with CarPlay. Because of how CarPlay functions, and what our app does they can not be used together without this being an officially supported feature. Different apps do different things and require different resources. -iTranslate teamVery useful!
As a teacher of many students from many countries, this app got me through many difficulties with communication, especially with parents. The translations are sometimes a tad literal but if I avoid the vernacular, I am going to get the message through.Tangoman 322

I have used this app in Five countries. It works flawlessly and has been instrumental in developing a through understanding between those that are helping us to save lives on the battlefield and being successful in communicating with Warriors that we need to know what they are really saying. I really like the old version before the update today because it would let you tap the speech button not only on English but on Japanese as well but now it treats it as a whole and doesn’t give you that option. I think it’s cool you added a phrasebook but I feel most people use this app to test their own speech in another language and play it back to see if it sounds similar and not as a quick handbook was predetermined phrases. Most people would say just say what you need to say in English and it will translate it through another language but sometimes that’s not the truth is it’ll translate it differently that’s why I really appreciated the button where you could say something in a foreign language and replay it back in the foreign language not your native language.Show lessSteven_keuker

I find this app lacking intuitiveness. Toggling from voice to written translation can be difficult and the app did not work consistently in the same manner over time (most difficult in attempting to work with written translations). The speak and translate part did work much better. Very good at understanding dictation and making the translation. If you wish to make translations writing instead of talking, find another app.Show lessLLMLBL
Great App
By far the best translation app I've ever used. I've had to learn many different languages and find myself still needing to use them. This app makes on the fly translations a breeze. I like that I can either speak what I want to translate or type it. A real lifesaver.Dzyrd1
Great for educators!
I can speak Spanish conversationally, but this has been invaluable for me as an educator because it translates technical language beautifully. My vocabulary is fairly limited, so this app has helped me immensely. This has been a lifesaver!BambiEyes
