  • Very helpful app!

I use this app at work to translate English to Spanish mostly to make sure that dental treatment explanations are clear. I recently traveled to Spain and could not use it due to data limitations, which was a bit of a bummer. Good wifi or internet connection is a must.
  • iTranslate

This is the best language translation program I have ever found. It reads my oral English sentences accurately, and it both writes and speaks the translation rapidly and correctly. It is a tremendous aid when communicating with someone who does not speak English.
  • Vascillating Incorrect/Correct translations across your apps

Vascillating correct/incorrect translations appear frustratingly too often in your Speak app, and with every try, the translations get worse in Speak when trying English to Hebrew, yet in your other 3 iTranslate apps, translations are fine on the first try. How can that be? Don't all your apps use the same core system dictionary?

  • not bad ... but there's better one out there

The single-language (English and .... Spanish, for example) translator/dictionaries are much better at what they do, and are less expensive or free.
This one is eight dollars but gives you many idioms in one app. ; nice if you're traveling through Europe for example.
Its main voice translation competitor right now is Speak & Translate ... but it's a hefty twenty bucks! S & T is slightly superior in several areas, like voice volume for instance. Yes, that's very important in a product like this because it's often being used in noisy environments. and since you're mostly listening (or asking the OTHER person to listen) to a foreign jumble of syllables, you want a higher degree of sharpness & clarity & volume coming from your tiny little smartphone speaker.
The text-only version of iTranslate is free and works quite well, so you might want to check that out first before spending the $8 for the voice version.

  • Great App

I'm so glad I got this app. Translates easily and quickly. You can speak the word or word(s) you want to translate – in either direction – from English to another language or from that other language to English. If it doesn't understand you, it then gives you the opportunity to type in the word or phrase you want to translate. Lots of different languages choices too.

  • Superb! The best app ever!

I'm using it for English-Spanish translations. The speech recognition is excellent, translations are superb as far as I can tell anyway, since I'm still learning Spanish. The audio speaking of translations is good. This is one of my favorite apps, and a great learning tool for me. It's really helping me with my Spanish.

  • Great App for short Mandarin Phrases

This is good for short, common phrases or sentences in Mandarin Chinese. Not always 100% accuracy, but for the modest price, it's pretty good. For common questions or expressions, you can save them in the app's Phrasebook. Hopefully, future versions will improve on accuracy and be able to translate longer sentences; maybe even several sentences accurately.

  • Helpful but too literal

Much better than nothing-- but it often messes up the translation from English to French because it's unable to get the context of a sentence. For example fleet (fast) might be translated as the French word for a group of ships.
  • Great With English and Spanish

Or community is getting more and more Latino residents, many of whom have not mastered English. While I don't interact enough with them to justify the trouble it would take to become fluent in their language, this app prepares me for those situations where I need to converse with them: accidents and emergencies, ordering food in their restaurants, helping them with directions, etc. It's very accurate and easy to use.

  • App was Very Poor in Kiev

App was almost worthless in Kiev, Ukraine as well as Google Translate. When I tried to use it by translating English to Russian, the Russians Told me through a human translator that the translations were sloppy at best. A number of the translated words did not convey the meaning I was trying to have translated, I.e., the Russian translation was NOT what I wanted translated. It got to the point that one of the Russian women would no longer even listen nor look at any translation app I had. Could not use it any longer. Totally unreliable.
