  • It’s useful..

However, BE CAREFUL. They have always had a large number of fake job listings on here. So use caution and care, because the listings can contain scams to steal your information, or recruit you into something that you did not sign up for. About 14 years ago, an interview from this page led me to an interview location.. nice building..nice part of town - and ended up surrounded by 4 strange men, who were most certainly not looking to hire an actual Secretary. They needed a Secretary, but not near what was advertised.

  • Untrustworthy employers/scam recruiters

So I have been using job sites to search for jobs at different points for over 5 years. In that time, I have never once had my information leaked or been poached by fake recruiters. My resume has always been publicly posted for employers to view on almost every site so I did the same with career builder. Within the same days I had multiple fake recruiters contacting me with opportunities that were clearly outside of my experience level / fair pay range. I requested to interview with one of them before realizing and as soon as I interviewed me they hired me on the spot and asked for a “small deposit to cover starting costs” . Immediately lost all trust in the site and their employer screening

  • Scammers on this app

It’s a shame because I’ve been targeted by 3 scam companies within 24 hrs, offering really high hourly pay, but then proceeded to conduct an interview over Microsoft Teams or Skype. I’ve conducted an interview with 2 of the companies, and at the end of the interview, they offered me the job, and stated that they need my personal contact details. I told them that without a formal onboarding form via email, I’m not giving my personal information (since identity theft is growing more and more these days). After that, the interview stopped. They were persistent about getting my personal details through Teams without sending me an email. If you see an offer like that, don’t fall for it, keep your information safe.

  • Do not download - SPAM CENTRAL

I was using another app to apply for jobs and the position post happened to be on career builder. In such a situation you have no choice but to join and then there is this bulk apply feature. Not only was the job post a scam so were the 42 other “jobs” they offered to bulk apply to. You don’t even understand why you’re pressing certain buttons until after it’s too late. I got emails, calls AND numerous texts from different scammers. I would never put my sensitive information like a resume on a site like this ever again. This is a terrible unsafe site. I never leave app reviews and this is my first one ever just to warn others 😩 if it were possible to give zero stars instead of one I would have.

  • A Hotspot for Scammers

While CareerBuilder is a widely recognized job search platform, my experience with it has been far from positive. As soon as I made my profile public, I was inundated with a barrage of emails and SMS messages from supposed employers. However, upon closer inspection, these messages all bore an eerie resemblance to one another, suggesting a coordinated effort to extract personal information from unsuspecting users.

The sheer volume of these messages and their identical nature raised red flags. It became evident that I was dealing with a group of scammers who were exploiting CareerBuilder's platform to prey on vulnerable individuals. The fact that they continued to contact me through new phone numbers even after I blocked them further solidified my belief that I was being targeted.

It's disheartening to discover that a platform as prominent as CareerBuilder could be a breeding ground for such malicious activities. I urge all users to exercise extreme caution when interacting with potential employers on this platform. Be wary of any unsolicited messages that request personal information, and always verify the authenticity of employers before engaging with them.

CareerBuilder needs to take immediate action to address this issue and implement stricter measures to safeguard its users from scammers. Until then, proceed with caution and protect your personal data diligently.

  • This is the worst job app I’ve ever used!!!!!

I could upload my same resume to every other major job website except this one because they claim the file is too big. I had to manually build out my resume on the app since I couldn’t upload my own which is already perfected and finished. Then I finally got all the details I wanted in the resume tool and the details don’t carry over from the resume builder into your profile so you have to add all your skills, education, job history multiple times. The resume that is generated out of the resume builder is also plain and not inviting at all. This app needs major overhaul and improvement.

  • Does not work in many basic areas

I could not upload my resume although I was within the file type and size parameters; had to spend an hour to build a resume in their native format. After all that trouble, every time I push “apply” on any job of interest, it takes me to a login page that takes me in a loop and does not actually take me to the job application. In essence, if I can’t apply for jobs, what use is this app to me? Maybe navigating through other platforms makes a difference ( I am on an ipad) but that should be clearly indicated, to avoid frustrating users and to deliver on the most basic promise that one cam apply for jobs with this app. Two thumbs down.

  • Terrible app, full of spam and fake jobs. AVOID!!!

Downloaded the app, created account and went through the whole process. Did a job search, and found a couple that I wanted to apply to. After doing so, I get an email from CareerBuilder, saying the job I applied for has been flagged as fraudulent and to stop all communication with them immediately. Weird right? Why not remove the post ?!
Since then, I have received multiple texts and emails which are clearly fake job postings, (people working at Large Companies, but sending a meeting invite from Gmail, and using Telegram”. Clearly none of this was an issue until I joined CareerBuilder.
Emails CareerBuilder support to question this, came back undeliverable.

  • Seems to be a staffing firm feeding ground

I used career builder for a month and like monster, I experienced getting multiple calls a day from staffing firms that are dressed in recruiter clothing. Overly aggressive, interrogation based staffers that present jobs that Im clearly way over qualified for. Offering positions slightly above minimum wage, when my experience calls for 60-90k a year. They call at all hours of the night and morning which shows lack of professionalism, and when I did set an appointment with them, they never called/showed.
Never once did I receive correspondence from an actual company. Once I told them to stop calling me, they would try to put me on with their “lead” who tried to use a shaming tactic to get my business. Would not reccomend, in fact, Id say , stay away, complete waste of time.

  • Career Builder

I am so angry!! Who are these shady employers? Are they even legit?? I have been flooded with text messages about jobs. Not one phone call or video chat call. Everything is done via text or chat only. And now I’m being texted before 7 am from stupid companies that I don’t even think are legit. When I told the person it’s not even 7 am and I work until late at night or up to 4 am so I’ve literally only been asleep a few hours, he apologized and explained it’s almost 8 am his time. Then he asked if I was interested in a position with them and wanted to continue with the interview via chat!! Are you kidding me?? Who wants to be woken up by a company about a job position at 6:50 am after being asleep for 2 hours and then do an interview via chat?? The fact that he actually have me a fake, halfway apology and then continued with wanting to just interview me fate I told him I had only been asleep a few hours, has me appalled and absolutely infuriated. His make he claims via text is Stephen David with the firm Wavin B.V.!!!
