  • Scam

The people who use career builder to find employees are complete scam artists. Someone took me through a whole process on how things were going to get done just to tell me that I would have to pay $400 for the software but that I would be reimbursed at the end. When they could’ve just as easily paid for it the same way she was asking me to pay her. I said it was a scam and declined the offer. She then sent another message asking for my drivers license and social security number after I just said no?? Do I have stupid written on my forehead? And I kept running into people like that who would text my phone and their wording and EVERYTHING would be the exact same. They like to say “is this understood?” It’s just very annoying especially when you don’t have time to be playing games with these people.

  • Buggy, constantly freezes, invasive

This application does ONE thing right, it allows for the posting of resumes and cover letter files. Aside from that however the app is non functional, you can’t edit basic information, it just freezes whenever you try to use it, you have to hard quit the app and launch it back up to get it to work again and if you do, it freezes!

The constant hard crashes are repeatable and unavoidable. Use the website folks don’t be lazy, this app is bad and will hurt your career job search by using it, no real user interaction, the chat function DOES NOT WORK! and it will freeze constantly, I have missed dozens of recruiter inquiries through this buggy app and it’s misshaped chat feature, it’s held me back career wise.

Don’t let poor app development hold your professional career search be hampered by a bad and poorly developed app. Don’t pay money for it, don’t invest valuable time on this... go to the careerbuilder website instead of this.

Save your time, and your potential career opportunities!

  • Horrible

Not very user friendly at all! Need more options of stuff you can click on. It lets you see how many jobs you’ve applied for, but you can’t click on it to see who. It tells you how many people looked at your profile, but you can’t click on it to find out who and when. It tells you how many searches you’ve been in, but not what searches they were because you can’t click on it! So on and so on same story different day.

  • Won’t let me change my location

This app does seem to draw a lot of attention to hour resume, however with a major problem... neither the website or the app will allow me to set my location that I live or the location that I’m looking for work in. It defaulted to a town 2 hours away from where I live and I’m not sure why, and every time I try to save the changes (again, both the app and the website), it tells me something went wrong and it doesn’t save it. So now I’m getting calls, emails, and notifications for all the great jobs that I can’t pursue because they are hours away from me. Pretty much just a bummer...

  • Never loads, doesn’t save info

This app is seriously so janky, it’s questionable if it’s even legit sometimes. When filling in fields, it will appear as if you’re typing but no characters appear. My profile is complete yet it shows nothing when I bring it up. Sometimes when you set a specific location it will show there’s no jobs when obviously there are hundreds. The app just overall does not work well. And for some reason it’s impossible to view your saved jobs whatsoever. There are definitely much better career finder apps out there.

  • Frustrating

I continue to get inquiries from companies that are in the state that I have not lived in for 1.4 Years. My profile was updated at the time of my moving, yet this is still an ongoing issue. I also have chat/correspondence history that can not be deleted and notices of new messages that are not showing. Also, my “preferred location” information does not recognize any of the surrounding counties or cities. Very frustrating experience.

  • Nothing but spam!!! Engineers time waste!

Since i signed up and updated my resume i have got slammed with spam job offers coming via direct text or emails and even after i deactivated my account. DO NOT USE this site as you will get spammed. Most companies scrape the data and career-builder sells it even after deactivating accounts. Use indeed, Glassdoor, and ziprecruitor or find companies and go direct. Career-builder is the last resort if you want to receive nothing but spam offers. Complete waste of time.
Signed, 15yr Automation Engineer who understands being scammed.

  • Cesspool for international scammers

Careerbuilder is the worst employment job search platform in the country. The same thing happened two years ago but I thought there’s no way they haven’t improved their security. WRONG!! Once again after three days, just 72 hours of activity I have received over a hundred emails and text from FAKE job recruiters with random people. I literally received 42 text messages from the same platform with different contact names but the format and verbiage was identical WORD FOR WORD. DONT WASTE YOUR TIME INSTALLING THIS APP OR USING THEIR SITE!!! I will probably end up with a virus, my identity stolen, and I’m 99% sure I’ll be changing my phone number today. THANKS FOR NOTHING YOU WORTHLESS SCAMMERS!!

  • Useless app for the most part

If you select any filters, it disregards them and shows what they want anyways. They also don’t make sure “employers” are actual businesses which allows for anyone to get your information to try and scam you. If you do choose to apply, don’t apply for anything that directs you to a website. It will most likely phish for info. I advise to either submit a resume and let the employer contact you or research them on the BBB and GlassDoor for verification. Also, you will get relentless amounts of texts from unprofessional people (again, mostly scammers)or recruiters for pyramid schemes. A serious job will call and schedule a virtual or face-to-face interview. Don’t fall for anything else. Do not make your resume public either, again, it’s a free-for-all for scammers to access your contact info. As someone who is immune-compromised as is relying on Work From Home jobs, they really need to fix what location is accessible for people looking for work. There are so many listed from my state, but when overlooking the summary, they are for a completely different state, which is not only easily fixable, but a waste of time for both parties, They need to better filter their desktop and mobile app for both employers and those looking for work.
