Very disappointed
Storm Shield
Dear StormShield Team,
As a premium user, I value the advanced features your app provides. To enhance the premium experience further, I suggest incorporating several key improvements. Adding more interactive and customizable radar options would be beneficial, as well as integrating live weather video feeds for real-time updates. Advanced weather analytics, long-range forecasts, and detailed weather maps with additional layers would also be appreciated. Specifically, for lightning features, having more detailed and frequent lightning strike information would be valuable. Additionally, premium users should receive access to critical alerts that can bypass Do Not Disturb settings and other silencing features, ensuring they are notified instantly during urgent situations. It would also be useful if the app supported landscape mode so that when users rotate their iPhones, they can view the map and radar in a horizontal orientation. Furthermore, premium users should receive new features and software updates every month, ensuring they get the latest improvements and features as soon as they are available. Free users will receive updates, but with a delay. This approach would ensure that premium users feel they are fully benefiting from their subscription and taking advantage of all the features StormShield offers
My Favorite Weather App
Two minor things- I wish the voice was a little louder when needed in my pocket and had the option of male voice like the national weather service voice just to hear clearer. The app is safer for me because it signals and reminds me to stop work and look and tells me about lightning and approaching weather so I also can warn my crew!
Thank you for a great app and please keep it going and updated!
Great for warnings
Response from developer
Thank you for the wonderful comment! You're exactly right -- Storm Shield's polygon alerts help reduce such false alarms just as you said. Glad to hear the app is fulfilling its primary mission of severe weather alerts for you!
A Crappy and garbage app
Response from developer
Thank you for providing your comments. We're sorry to hear that you're not pleased with the latest version of Storm Shield App. Based on your comment, it sounds as if you're upset with the differences between the old v3.x app versus the new v4.x app. We'd like to clarify the differences between the two app versions. You do not have to pay again to continue using the features in the version 4 app that you had in the old version 3 app. In the new version 4 app, just like you had in the old version 3 app, you can still: receive severe weather alerts for your locations; see past radar imagery; view alerts on the radar map; view details of active alerts; save multiple locations; view current conditions; view hourly and daily detailed forecasts; view local TV station content (if a local media provider exists in your market). There are several NEW features you get for FREE that were not available in the old version 3 app: view Clouds and Radar together on the map; view Wind Speed map layer; view Snow Cover map layer; view Temperature map layer; view Water Temperature map layer; view Road Weather map layer; view Earthquakes map later; view multiple severe weather layers on the map at the same time (which version 3 could not do); add more than 5 saved locations (which version 3 could not do). Lastly, in the version 4 release, two NEW features, which are new additions to the app that did not exist in the version 3 app, are paid features which are subscription-based, and optional. These include: Premium Weather (which unlocks Future Radar, Storm Tracks, Future Temperature Map); and Lightning Strikes (which unlocks Lightning Notifications and Lightning strikes on the map).
No longer reliable
Response from developer
We're sorry to hear of the troubles you're having with receiving support. This makes us wonder three possibilities: 1) if our responses to you might be getting lost in a junk mail folder? 2) Also - per your comments, today we searched our support system for 'Benjamin' and 'Ben' (per your screen name on your App Store Review here), and we did not not find any support tickets that match your stated issue. As a reminder, for us to troubleshoot such issues, we need a support ticket sent from within your Storm Shield App. You can send a support ticket from within the app by tapping Settings (the gear icon on the Map screen) > Support > Contact. This provides us with additional diagnostic data so we can investigate. In your support email, we'd ask that you document and note any dates and times you think you should have received alerts but didn't, or were delayed. 3) If for some reason your submitted support tickets sent from inside your Storm Shield App itself are not getting to us - here is an alternate way to send a support ticket: ALTERNATE: If you're unable to submit a ticket via the app, please do the following: 1) visit this link for an alternate way to send a ticket: [ http://support.stormshieldapp.com/support/tickets/new ]. 2) Please include the following initial diagnostic info to help us get started: 2a) your Device type and model (e.g. iPhone X, iPhone 7 Plus, iPad Air, etc). 2b) your Device iOS version (check this on your device's iOS Settings | General | About | Version). 2c) your Storm Shield App version (tap the 'Settings' gear icon on Map screen | Support | About Storm Shield) . 3) Let us know on more details about the problem you're experiencing. 4) Attach any screenshot(s) from your app that might help with troubleshooting.
Fantastic, but missing Critical Alerts support

Thanks for your feedback! We'll share your comments with our product and development team as we evaluate options for future app enhancements.
Widget doesn’t work
If they had decent tech support this would be a 5 Star app for me.
A very good app, but:
1) It is for all of our protection!
2) It would be nice to know the precise
heights and directions of T-storms
as much as is reasonably possible,
which admittedly may rapidly change!
3) Still, I am only +/- pleased. I have to switch
to another paid app in order to protect
people on a volunteer basis (in the
"sand pit" neighborhood or even at swim
meets). Really ???
4) It is the moral equivalent of not warning
people about tornadoes to not warn us
about lightning (both should be free). Lots
of other "non-lethal" data points can be
used ethnically for profit. Thanks.
