Ideal for volatile weather locations
Living in Oklahoma, we can have all four seasons in one week. Living in a mobile home makes OK tornado season even scarier. I especially like how there is a permanent section for watches/warnings. I can quickly verify if there is one or NONE, which helps with my peace of mind. I also appreciate the in depth Short Term descriptions because it explains what might happen and why. This is exactly what I was looking for in a weather app. I just wish there was a widget (for quicker watch/warn double checking).Show lessBW-430
Technical Weather Forecast without the jargon
I am a weather geek with a physics degree. I understand the weaknesses and failure of weather apps that boil weather forecasts into a single digit or a range of probabilities. The Deep Weather app is unique. It boils all the technical information into a simple, easy to understand narrative that is spot on. In the past as we’ve travelled during the winter in the American West I’ve used the NWS twitter posts to understand the trends in upcoming weather. From now on I will check Deep Weather first before tackling the technical forecasts.Show lessjabyssal
Good but annoying
I like the idea of this app. The use of text instead of graphics is refreshing, and the Extended Forecast screen tells me what I need for the area I search for.
Unfortunately it constantly displays messages about location being turned off, often two at a time, layered on top of each other, and clicking the X on one of them sometimes fails to dismiss it. If all those location messages could be turned off this would be a nice app.Show lesspaul755344768

Yes they are some times wrong but that’s fun too. It takes some time to catch on to the acronym and the abbreviations but helps you understand weather patterns and how the professionals do their work. Don't miss the climate discussion. ( the real climate info)!n10yx
this is public data anybody can write an application for it
this is public data that anybody can write an application for. Yet they have dummy down this app to try to make some money on something you can get for free, do you want a default location have to pay, do you want a single page which is the default way that it comes from the weather service, gotta pay the only worthwhile thing this app has is the glossary which is nice to have but then again there’s Google Search and when you might need it which is rarely.Show lessvortex44
Informative
This is the best weather app I’ve used. The others are fancier with more eye appeal but this app not only tells you what to expect but why. So as a result, I not only am informed of what to expect but why. It’s still weather forecasting however.Hog Hannah
No snow levels for local mountains
Good overall coverage of weather, but, like almost every other weather app, it misses the mark for mountain forecasts. The most useful forecast for winter weather in the mountains is estimated snow level. Knowing the probability of snow versus rain is critical for safe driving and even survival. Excellent app
The forecast discussion is the most meaningful and interesting NWS product for me - thanks for this efficient route to it. Short of NOAA/NWS making their own app for direct access (apparently not allowed), this is the best access to one of the most valuable parts of the NWS forecast package.
