Extra charges
You get charged more money if the driver goes below 8mph and it’s up to the driver to select that they have arrived, I’ve had drivers select arrived 5 minutes before arriving and then been charged a waiting fee on top of the driving fare from my bank account, they need to monitor locations so this doesn’t happen. You also get charged for time spent at traffic lights on top of the fare, 20p every minute or something like that.

The payment on app needs fixing
I really like Blueline as a company but the transactions via the app needs fixing. It’ll charge you when you book, but if the end price is more (which is sometimes the case, and this I can understand in some circumstances) then you get charged twice. Sometimes you don’t have enough money to be charged twice! I almost got stuck with a driver at the airport because I paid the initial £25 fee when booking, but because it cost £26 the payment rejected as it tried taking a full £26 rather than the additional £1 needed. This was a day before payday for me - I was flying back home and so I didn’t have enough to essentially be charged twice. Thankfully the driver was understanding to a degree - he took a pic of my ID and I promised to bank transfer to him next day, which I did and then I got the £25 back from Blueline! V strange mechanism and needs adjusting… either charge the max fee and refund what isn’t spent, or charge the max fee and only take the extra charges accrued?
Considering cost of living these days this might leave a lot of people unstuck and cause undue stress. I was lucky I had a driver that gave me the benefit of the doubt!

The app is bad
I booked on the app, but got multiple errors, when the booking did go through it wouldn’t let me use my saved credit card and made me choose cash. When I got in the car, I could use the card reader but was charged a standing / waiting charge even though I was stood on the pavement waiting for the taxi. The taxi tracker got lost for a good 10 minutes despite good 5G coverage. What’s happened to Blueline and this app?

Payment
I’ve set my default payment method to be by card. However when I booked a trip it was setup to be cash only for some reason.
The driver insisted I pay him in advance before moving, and charged me £15 to his own personal card reader. The journey receipt in the app shows that I should only have had to pay £13 for the trip.
I’ve used Blueline for years and never had this kind of issue before, I’ve never seen any taxi company demand payment before completing the journey, nor have I ever seen a driver so blatantly overcharge. It’s very concerning and doesn’t make me feel like I can safely use this company again in future.
Unlike with Uber there’s no way to rate or provide feedback on the trips & drivers within the app, or if there is then it’s well hidden.

Such a shame
Not sure what happened to the taxi firm I’ve used for nearly 40 years. Whether or not it’s the app I’m not sure but it seems more and more frequently, drivers are cancelling pre booked jobs allocated to them because they can get a better fare elsewhere. When this happens at the time of your booking it’s unacceptable and really damaging for the Blueline name. Unfortunately I’m finding myself using Uber more and more because of the issues with Blueline

Standing charge
I am a frequent user of the Blueline app but this new version seems to have introduced a standing charge which defeats me. A recent booking was late arriving so I waited on the pavement to get straight into the car for my appointment. The invoice I received showed a standing charge of £1.20 but I was certainly the cause of any delays. Drivers since have not known anything about this when I have been paying by cash. Otherwise it’s a great app very similar to the Nearby Taxi app.

Failed
I downloaded the app and tried to have my phone verified 10 times with no success. I got tired of trying, and deleted the app. There is no help available on the app to get this figured out so oh well.
Double charges, and incorrect waiting charges
This app generates an authorisation hold when you book, but when the journey is complete it creates a new transaction instead of taking the holding charge, resulting in the customer essentially being charged twice until the hold is released. This took 2 weeks for me.
They also charge you “waiting fees”. But when I’m standing in a taxi pickup point, see the car approaching and get in immediately, a 10 minute waiting fee is ridiculous. Support says this is automatic based on gps and speed, in which case, Blueline systematically overcharge customers.
The app doesn’t show receipts. The support option just opens a web view. Overall a bad experience.

Ineffective
The app is smooth, easy to use, perfect really, unfortunately the system it links to, or the way it links, means the service is a disgrace. I booked a taxi 2 weeks before I needed the service, however because there were no cars in my area no car turned up. After an hour I was able to source another method of travel, however I should not have needed to. Previously when booking a taxi, an operator would direct my taxi to me, however now it's the app and they cannot seem to override this.

Latest update is a step back
The latest update lost my account, saved locations and card. The map is worse, now no longer tracks taxi in real-time to your location, rather you have to refresh the now separate tracker. Have Blueline been taken over? I ask because the phone line has also lost all my previous locations I’ve travelled from. You used to be able to select from a list of places but that’s not the case now.
