Disappointing Update: Lost Data and Features, Forced into Subscription
I’ve been using this app since 2014, and it was perfect for my needs—simple workout tracking with no extra fluff. However, after the recent update, the developers have switched to a subscription model, and I’ve lost all the functionality I previously had without paying $80 a year.
What’s worse is that I also lost all my data and custom exercises, and customer support hasn’t responded to any of my inquiries. It’s frustrating that a tool I paid for now requires another payment just to use the basic features.
If you’re looking for a workout app, I’d recommend avoiding this one.

Miss Sold a, one of the early users of this app not forgotten
As with most reviews of late, I too purchased this app some years ago not only to support the new app but also to make full use of it. It was the best of its kind for many years
I opened the app a week ago only to find that there is now suddenly a £50/ year subscription. You'd think that for those long term paying customers the entire app would remain unlocked at the very least, but even so they should never have moved to a subscription model in the first place.
I would not support this App based on my own experience. Miss sold a one time purchase and not forced a "monthly fee". My question remains, is this allowed?

Money grabbers. Used to be great, not anymore!
I’ve used this app for years and generally it’s been great, a little bit limited with a lack of exercise examples but you get around it. The timer’s quite handy
The bad part comes from the fact I’ve actually paid for this twice now, once when it first came out but it kinda crashed and I ended up purchasing it again… this was an outright purchase no in app con rubbish. Now I find I can no longer make my own workout routines because as soon as I click ‘add workout’ it jumps to a monthly subscription! Considering I’ve already paid fully for this app (twice) I’d rather use a pen and paper than give them anymore money!
Fair enough if it’s for something new or extra but they actually taken away features I’ve already paid for!! Should be ashamed.

New version is not worth it
Updated the app, now charge $20/month - better options out there for free

Years ago this was a great simple app. It appears it has been sold or something and the new developer has changed it to a subscription model. If you paid in full previously, your outta luck. You need to pay again now via subscription. Virtually every recent review after these changes is negative.
I paid in full and have used this app since 2016. It was a basic app for just recording your workout, that’s all I was after so it was fine for my needs. I don’t need to pay $80 a year for an app to tell me how to do an exercise or to create a standard cookie cutter a plan for me.

There are much better apps that do the same thing just as well for a lot less. Personally I’d look elsewhere for developers that provide support and honour a sales agreement.

I purchased this app many years ago it no longer works! Very disappointed to pay for something that doesn’t get updated and supported! Shame on you apple for supporting this type of software development!!!
I had access before
I bought this app when it had no subscription. I had access to all exercises. I could create my own customized exercises and other things. But now after the update this year everything changed… with restrictions and forcing me to pay for the features I had access before. I paid for an App to have full access to what it was promised without any subscription, it is not right to put limit and ask for money now. That was not the agreement.
Also, why having these little updates when nothing is getting fixed? The app freezes, it is very buggy and nothing is for the better. It is literally the Same app as before, it’s not like you are getting anything better or extra. It doesn’t connect to Apple Health, Apple Watch… it is very Outdated. The only difference is that you have to pay $50 yearly? I am losing my patience and I considering deleting it for good. It has become a Trash app.
I recommend these apps instead… Strong, Workout, Gym Log+, and Fitnotes

Without warning
I’ve been using this excellent app for around8 years now. I kept the app for and unfortunate hiatus due to being too ill through covid, during which I survived time in the ICU on 80% oxygen.
During my slow recovery, the covid bug left me with blood clots that have rendered irreparable damage to my legs arteries, of which the left suffered worse. I am now on PIP, blood thinners and another 4 meds beside painkillers.
Yet this worlds CEO’s have been hit the worse bless them, having to ask those of us at the bottom end of the financial ladder to cough up more money for their overpriced serviced in the first place.
Now on my return to using this quite excellent 5star app, I’m having to pay a monthly or year subscription to further my fitness whereas before it was totally free. So I’ve reduced my 5 stars to just 3, as I can still my basic needs but you have really lost my respect fully now you got greedy
