  • The Best!

I have been using Band Helper for years, in various bands and now with a worship team. As an IT professional myself, I may have a bit more of a discerning eye for apps than most people. Band Helper is a great app, for sure, but what makes it really great is the developer. I recently had a fairly esoteric issue with the transpose function on one of my iPads which is on an earlier version than my other iPads. I submitted a help ticket, and the response I received was terrific. Every day, sometimes several times a day, I would get responses as we were working thru the issue which was resolved in about a week. So refreshing to see a developer genuinely interested in supporting their product! 5 stars for sure! I will be a Band Helper user for life! Did I mention the app is terrific and full featured?? :)

  • Does what it says!

I haven’t used any other similar stage plot apps, so I can’t really compare it with any of the others. I’m a longtime user of BandHelper and love it so I figured this app would be good as well and I was not disappointed. Like any other app, it takes a couple of minutes to figure it out with a little trial and error here and there but in a short time I was up and running and had a professional looking stage plot. I recommend this app! Thanks, Arlo.

  • Outstanding!

Do yourself a favor and get this app! So many useful tools! I absolutely rely on it for every aspect of my gigging and practicing. Been a sub for many years now and have never regretted it. Only way I could benefit from it more is if I would utilize the MIDI functionality and the Finance portion. Two aspects I haven’t tried out yet, but might, some day.

  • Easy to get started, exciting Midi features

The main reason I was interested in this app was to take advantage of its Midi capabilities. I use a guitar synth that has a very clunky interface, (looking at you, Roland) and was looking for a way to streamline selecting patches, mostly between songs. It works perfectly for this application, connecting to my synth using a bluetooth midi adapter, and after spending some time setting up program changes in the app, my entire song list now automatically activates the correct patch for each song. One non-obvious thing also, you can add as many Midi Presets to a song as you want, and use that song as a menu to select presets when a song is not on the set list… Brilliant! If that was all it did, it would be worth the monthly fee to me, but it has much more capability than I’ll ever need.

I have found it easy to navigate, and getting started was a breeze. I can see that its mainstream value is in set lists, with lyrics and chords in your device in many different configurations, but the midi stuff is the thing that seals the deal for me.

Also I would like to compliment the developer on the outstanding tutorials and support docs; very complete and easy to understand.

  • Get this now!!

This improved my musical life! I was old school binder guy. Now I use this every week, either performing or just having a fun jam with friends and family. And it works on my really old iPads!
  • Best musician app

    I’m a drummer….
No more set lists taped to the floor
It’s no big deal to make song changes gig to gig or even within the gig. And the last thing for me…… The viewing song list can have a blinking metronome so I can always stay in tempo no matter how excited I am!

Put the app on an IPad and connect an IPad holder somewhere you can reach and see that’s out of the way. I have mine on my High Hat stand. I just scratch the surface with this thing. It does so much more!!! Well worth the yearly fee and….. Arlo updates often. Get it!

  • Just what we needed

Amazing app, and I'm a programmer. Also has thought if just about everything, and from a Musician's point of view, not a programmer. Because it does so much, watch the tutorials and spend the time to learn the app. It will pay off. The website is also great. A nice adjunct to the app with many useful features like importing iTunes playlists for set lists. And the real-time sync of set lists between players is fantastic. No more "what's next" questions from the peanut gallery.

  • A Must have app for any musical performer!

Whether you are a solo performer or member of a band, this app will instantly change how you organize your songs, set lists an recordings. The app support is first class and the developer is always looking to improv3 the capability of the app.
  • Fantastic!

I’ve been using Bandhelper for 4 years. It’s a breeze juggling multiple gigs now. Thanks Arlo!
  • Great for live MIDI control

We have a cover band that has a keyboard player that uses multiple keyboards, multiple midi controlled sound modules, and a midi switch that can change the midi channel signals and routing on the fly. Every song has a different setup to be able to replicate the sounds that people expect from the original recording. We’ve been using band helper for over two years, and it has made the process SO MUCH better. Not only can we easily generate and distribute set lists on the fly depending on the gig, but it has made it possible to go from one tune to the next almost instantaneously and takes the stress out of getting all the settings right.

We generally make edits to individual song settings and set lists with an iPad, but we do the live midi control with an iPhone interfaced to an iConnect MIDI 4 via the lightning connector. (The band helper software makes all the syncing btw individual band member’s phones and iPad easy, so we don’t have to use the iPad for the live performance.)

For a gig, the kbd player has his phone open to the set list. He just taps the next song, and he’s ready to go. If we have a special request, no big deal as long as the song has been worked out before. Just go to the song library and tap it.

For the rest of the band, we just print the set lists from the software and stick them on the floor. The formatting and big printing are good enough to see even under poor lighting conditions.

We are really happy with this software.
