Do not subscribe unless you want to be disappointed

Nine months since they’re ‘big’ update and I am still unable to regularly download a new issue each week. Having to constantly refresh and restore my purchase is tedious and unnecessary and for almost £50 a year I expect much better. I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Great Magazine, Rubbish App

The magazine itself is great!

The app however is terrible. As an annual subscriber, almost every week I’m unable to download the latest magazine. I have to “Restore Purchases”. This regularly fails. It can take a few mins or a few days before I have access to the latest edition.

If you are buying a one-off edition, you’ll be fine. Don’t subscribe though. Look elsewhere for a subscription option.

Irritated

This new update looks good but so annoyed as if I put it to my library and show only downloaded every time I leave the app it comes out of my settings and back to showing all etc and I have to fix it back to what it was. Can it not stay on what I had my settings at.

New version of app.

Hi, updated app to new version yesterday. Came to download latest version of magazine and it was marked at£1.99. Have been a subscriber for over 10 years and each time the app is updated, the same problem seems to occur in that a charge is showing to download latest copy of Tv and satellite (hard copy arrived in post this morning).

Please correct this fault. I advised sales section and they said to contact yourselves. John Cole

Worst App Ever

Restore purchase button doesn’t work, asking me to pay for something my subscription already covers troubleshooting solutions do nothing, abysmal customer service. The old version of the apps were great, feels like every time they update they don’t bother to do any testing at all and this version has been live for ages and still having issues with it. When it doesn’t work, roll back to something that does

Update October 2022- it’s still the worst app on my phone with the most errors. Pay a subscription so the magazine can be downloaded on a Tuesday, app decides nah not bothering with that you can have later in the week when the magazine is pretty useless

Paid subscription but still asking for money to download

Paid for a monthly subscription to iTunes but the app is still asking me for money before I can download the latest issue. Absolutely sick of it. Done everything I can do to try and fix it. I’ve now requested a refund from iTunes- still waiting. All recent reviews seem to be saying a similar thing. It’s about time the developers either fixed it or pulled the app from the store!

Poor

Paying for subscription but not being able to download. What a waste of time. They take the money from me but I get nothing.

Such a shame to cancel

Have had a subscription since 2017, having previously purchased the paper version. 2 weeks ago and all the time before it was a fantastic app and the best tv magazine.
Then they updated it, all trace of past and current issues deleted, tells me it can’t connect to iTunes Store, then says restoring purchases, for eternity and doesn’t. Really annoyed and disappointed and cancelled subscription now. 😡😡😡

Truly Dreadful App

This is a dreadful app, slow to open, clunky navigation, keeps returning you to the bookstand each time you go into it rather than remembering your last page viewed. Add to that each time its updated you lose access to the program for several days if you subscribe via iTunes. The publisher is not interested in problems when you’ve subscribed via iTunes and tells you to contact them even though its their app and publication for which they are paid. A truly dreadful app, I shall be cancelling my sub and trying another because these problems have persisted for a long time now with neither the publisher nor Apple seeming interested in sorting it out.

Hopeless.

Can’t disagree with the other reviews here. App repeatedly crashes. As soon as you hit the home page. If you delete and then reinstall it, it comes back for a few seconds! But then crashes again. I’ve emailed them but they don’t answer. A shame as it’s a good magazine and I’ve just subscribed!
