Gridlock

There are indeed a few things to love about this app, especially the cue mix! But the major oversight of having a ruler grid set to seconds instead of bars renders this app frustratingly useless as a remote control. It is almost impossible to accurately set up an 8 bar loop to record to! Really! Did I already say it’s so frustrating? It makes matters worse when a quick scan of user forums reveals that this fundamental feature has been requested for over 10 years. The cue mix and key commands are wonderful, but the grid actually makes this remote a time waster, not a time saver. It could be SO GOOD!

Cubase iC Pro supports using markers, which comes in pretty handy when it comes to loop recording. Here I'd suggest to create several cycle markers in your Cubase project (e.g. individual cycle markers for several verses and/or chorus parts etc.), which all will be displayed in Cubase iPro. Once done you can pretty easily jump to those cycle marker sections via simple tap(s) from within iC Pro to play these in a loop. Hope that makes sense for you workflow-wise. Great remote

I’ve used this for several years, works great! Super handy for many uses. Having access to my macros is very convenient and really saves time.

Terrible

You should refund users for this. This app has spent many yrs on the crash list with the odd fix every blue moon then it breaks again. The app is apart of the Abandonware family. Thx steinberg!

This is awful!!

I’m an experienced DAW user. Cubase IC Pro for me is unusable with an iPad Air 5th gen and PC windows 11. The app is not stable. I read all the reviews going back years and hoped this latest version fixed the well documented problems. Nope!

Connected it successfully only once (after hours of failing) then closed the project to open another Project. Cubase IC Pro shortcuts stop working! Press the app reconnect button and then it crashes refusing to reconnect.

Steinbergs solution for connection problems is to restart your router or iPad. Really!! In a session with clients every time I load a new project. Don’t make me laugh. Especially when there is no guarantee the connection will re-establish itself.

I purchased Cubase IC Pro for the cue mix feature but the app is totally unstable and not fit for purpose. Refund please.

Love it with 13 Pro

This is the one thing I missed when I switched from Logic Pro. Very happy they’ve updated it. I’ve seen this before years ago and was deterred by people saying support was dropped. I started looking again because I need a new keyboard and I don’t want another 100% keyboard, but the record, ffw, rewind, jump to beginning, etc. key-binds are on the number pad. Saw people say support was picked up again, so gave it a shot and not only was my problem solved with $16, but Steinberg ran it in for a touchdown imo. With Cubase IC Pro I can get a 60% keyboard and not only retain functionality, but gain more shortcut control over Cubase. My only suggestion is they make the project view grid switchable between bars/measures and time. I can only see time and can’t find a way to see measures, but that may be on me. Other than that, great job Steinberg team. Looking forward to using this more and seeing what else you come up with.

Awesome App

It works great with Cubase. Sits pride of place on my desktop. Bought a iPad just to dedicate it to controlling Cubase and this really works well. Love the programmable buttons, shortcuts and the GUI. Love that it works on both iPad and iPhone. Get it if you are an IOS user!

Abysmal integration and delayed implementations

Since forever ( decades) using Cubase/ Cubasis. With their controllers/ interfaces.
Absolutely every time on any system- and annoyingly on OsX and iOS they recommend to not update the OS ( iOS, macOSX , etc).
Because they do not develop, in advance the integration as any respectable developer. Even small ones.
So there's an arbitrary wait period where Cubase is unusable until is made "com, then fixed, to restart the frustration cycle.
