I hope you like advertising!!!!

You can barely see your emails for adverts! It has a select all button to easily delete lots of emails, except it only selects a few so quite useless.
Don’t even try clean up your inbox because as you go down the page selecting items it will refresh and de-select them all, so you must delete one by one. If you manage to select a bunch and delete them it takes you back to the top of your inbox, you then have to scroll and scroll all the way to where you were and start again.
Only some emails will be shown in your Inbox, at a later point it might show you the others if it bothers to update, this could be days later!

But if you like adverts they are always there, always working! Clearly showing adverts is the main priority, providing an email service is secondary.

Email unsubscribe

Whenever I unsubscribe from any emails that I no longer require or do not wish to receive even after a cooling down period of two weeks I am still receiving these unwanted emails which is not only very frustrating and annoying but some of them I have felt very dubious and doubtful about the reason and security concerns relating to these emails especially when they have attached links to open but of which I do have the immense intelligence not to click on or open but don’t understand even though I do keep the Yahoo Mail app always updated my concerns and actions are still not being resolved. Extremely disappointed and unimpressed with even the latest update of the Yahoo Mail app. I would appreciate it if my concerns could be addressed and taken on board and resolved and respond to by return message with immediate effect, please.
Thank you very much 🙏🙏

“Inbox highlights” will not stop and unreliable delivery

Can’t get rid of the inbox highlights reminding me of upcoming events and asking if I want to revisit those emails. No, no, I don’t. I’ve tried turning off all the inbox highlights in settings—no dice, they’re still sitting at the top of my inbox. I’ve tried the hamburger menu on each “highlight”, clicking to turn off all highlights about this reminder. Still there! Then back to the “highlight” hamburger menu again, clicking to clear the highlight—it goes away, but returns as soon as I leave and return to the app! I star important emails and have reminders set up to alert me 15-30 minutes before anything I need to be reminded about; I don’t need a constant banner in the app reminding me of things that are days or weeks away. If I clear the highlight, I want it to stay gone! If I turn off all the highlights in settings, it means I really don’t want any highlights!

Then there’s the fact that Yahoo! doesn’t deliver all my incoming mail—it’ll bounce some messages (sometimes due to size, but not always!) without any alert to me or the person sending the message. I’ve had to switch to a Gmail account to receive important emails because Yahoo! just isn’t reliable.

Response from developer

Thanks for the helpful feedback! Currently in the design, you can "x" out of the highlight at the top of inbox, but in the next session, it does come back! We have shared this with the right team and we will implement some changes. This is only an experiment so not all users are seeing this. Thanks again for the feedback!

Quite good but….

Actually a very good functioning mail app. I needed to change to a new mail app after the introduction of ios18 which broke the apple mails app notifications. Yahoo mail functions very well. I’m quite impressed with it’s user interface and ease of use. I liked it so much that I decided to upgrade to mail plus. I felt the price for this was fair to remove those annoying adds. However, and here’s why I can only score it 3 stars, why on earth doesn’t the monthly subscription cover multiple yahoo mails within the app? And why isn’t this mentioned prior to subscription? A shame. If this wasn’t the case, and if some more fun customisable alert options could be included, then this would be a 5 star gem.

They Dont Listen To Feedback

(1) You cannot clear the App’s cache, which accumulates a lot of data each time this App opens a website internally.
(2) Sometimes its spam filter will let a spam email enter your Inbox. There is no easy way to find out if this is spam as the iPad does not have a “hover over” mouse function. This allows you to see exactly who the sender is and what links it has embedded in their email. The only way is to click Reply and in the draft email, you will be able to see who you are replying to.
(3) Even if you move a suspicious email to the spam folder, Yahoo App will still open its images and other trackers. Who does that in 2024? All email clients know not to open the content of a spam email, except Yahoo.
(4) Every week, this App asks me to confirm my contact details in case I had to recover my account. Every week!

REVIEW OF THE NEW EMAIL

Although this new style of email I do miss the old arrangement when transferring a new email to its folder the mail title was remembered and one did not have to scroll continually to move the email into its folder although having written that I do like the ease of bringing identical senders and moving those.
I have a real problem with drafts and those sent. I deleted an important email that still had the word draft in red with a similar message showing in the sent folder so I deleted the draft only to discover that both the draft and sent emails were deleted with no means of restoring the message.

Expert services with a track record of successfully recovering cryptocurrency and other lost data.

I recently fall into a big scam from a trading platform called Interactive Brokers LLC trading, Unfortunately for me, I invested 55,000 USD worth of bitcoin with a fraudulent company. I was happy to watch my account grow to 260,000 USD within a couple of weeks. But i didn't realize i was dealing with a scam company, until i tried to make an attempt to withdraw. I made a withdrawal request, and noticed my account was suddenly blocked for no apparent reason. I tried contacting customer support, but all to no avail. I needed my money back at all cost, because i could not afford to let it go.
So i tried all possible means to make sure i recovered my scammed bitcoin. I did a lot of online search for help, and tried to see if there were other people who had any similar experience. I stumbled upon a cryptocurrency forum where a couple of people mentioned that they had been through the same process but were able to recover their lost cryptocurrency, funds with the help of tecwizardpro @ gmail. So i file a report and he was able to help me get back all my lost funds within 3hrs i feel indebted to him. Apart from trying to express my gratitude to them once again using this medium, I will recommend anybody who wants to recover scammed bitcoin, stolen cryptocurrency, funds lost to binary options forex, investment and any other form of online scam, reach out to tecwizardpro @ gmail

Yahoo Mail and Sky email on yahoo is utter rubbish constant adds you clear or block but they come back the constant bombardment to upgrade to +.
Well you need to sort out your platform first constant bombardment of scam emails I cannot block . Can’t login on browser with Sky email . I’ve had my own name used on scam emails from around the world with no connection with these do domains . I don’t even know how they are getting my details I can receive six in a week on both Sky and yahoo email on the later I have also recieved emails from a known named sender but looking at the senders domain it is not them sending it . It is most likely AI generated but how the hell are they getting my details to send scam spam email. This has been happening for over a year and I’m thinking of closing down these emails permanently due to this security issue . No help from yahoo what so ever. I’d rate it at 1 star as I can’t do zero star .

The worst email ever

This is the worst email service imaginable. I have had a yahoo email address for 15 years but it got so unreliable over the last few years. The emails do not send sometimes at all and the content of my saved emails gets mixed up. These are core functions of email service provider so it’s truly an unacceptable service.

Emails on folders disappear

I am updating. Got a request about emails disappearing out of folders. Well I sent the developer a screenshot from Yahoo that says if you havent been in a folder in a year it empties those emails. Thats why we all keep folders of things we need or might need later. I had emails from my husband who passed away. I pulled up the folder I had, all emails gone. Then I started looking. Older folders, all emails were gone. Same thing happened to my sister. This means you have to click on the folders I assume once a month so those things you are keeping don’t disappear. This is ridiculous.

I’ve always used yahoo and like it. But has anyone noticed in your email folders if you don’t go in them often all your emails that you’ve saved or just gone??. I create a folder for everything to include my doctors, etc. but if I have not gone into the folder in the last 30 days every email is gone. The purpose of folders is to say things you may have to go back and pull up later or information you may need later. I don’t think this is just me. It’s also happening to my sister and her account. So developers etc what’s up with this? I had emails that I desperately needed to keep and they’re gone. Yes, many of them were old, but it was information I needed to keep

Response from developer

We haven't seen this reported and we can't replicate it. Our folders in our test account are all still there, so we'd like to collect more info from you, especially screenshots comparing the app to the desktop. We are not auto deleting anything from folders. Folder emails as you mentioned, is yours and are not deleted. You can send these screenshots to mail.ios.feedback@yahooinc.com.
