Much better
This version is way better than the previous one. Selecting which part of the remote to use is the best improvement. I haven't used the gesture mode much it to give it a fair judgement but it also seems to be doing what it is supposed to do. Nice job, Oppo!
Needs work
Thus version of the App has problems connecting to the player, the remote can see the player but attempting to connect isn't successful - then it crashes.
Not working
I just updated and it already has bugs !! It pretty much doesn't work

Does What it's Supposed to do
I have all of my AV equipment in a closet in a separate room so the I can't use the standard Oppo remote since it's not RF. All of my equipment is connected through a network and this app has worked flawlessly so far! It's just like using the remote that came with my BDP-105. Well done Oppo, as usual!

Media App is better
I wish people would learn that when they update the device or app, if you just delete the app and reinstall, most problems go away (just like mine did). But that said, the app works fine but the media app is much better with more features. The media app is newer, as I only got it because the media app was iPad only at the time. Now I've deleted and installed the media app on all of my iOS devices.

Works for me
This app works, and with a remote that weighs so much for some reason, this is a little better, I've only had the 103D for a short time, so its simpler than the supplied remote.
Why?
I agree with the previous reviewer in asking why a a company that built a $1000-plus-plays-anything-with-decoders-on-steroids multimedia player created an app that can't turn the unit on? The only benefit to the app is that it's wifi so if your listening to a zone in your home away from IR LOS, you can change the music a bit. I'd also add that the UI is nearly incomprehensible. It's saving grace is that it can also replicate the actual remote. That part they got right. So if you just like to play with apps on your IOS product and don't mind the fact that your body is part of the app's functionality, go for it!

Remote needs updating for Darbee button on new remote.
