Worse than before
App has less functionality and is more difficult than prior years. Would be very nice to get more functionality around bus schedules in particular.Simple guy with simple needs

Im sad to say the tech for the iPhone app is way below par. Do not cut back on the paper program because it has worked wonderfully forever. The Fest is almost impossible to navigate without it. What a foolish way to try to save a tiny bit of money. So unnecessary and such a loss.
This iPhone and iPad app, was a nightmare for me. Plus none of the tech team could fix it. Anne Grennan changed my password because I was having problems, but then I would get email notices to vote, but it wouldn’t allow me in. It would say my device didn’t coordinate with my password. I was so upset. I couldn’t vote the whole time.
I wrote the Help team three times and heard back once, but they didn’t fix it. I tried and tried with Anne but it didn’t work. I still haven’t been able to vote. It is very upsetting.
It is also upsetting that we are paying more for online film passes and have fewer days to watch within. This not how to be successful, first of all, it has to work, second of all, you can’t take away from from what customers like and are used to. You can’t possibly save enough money to make any of this worth.

Stop creating new apps every year
The app experience continues to be a struggle at Sundance. Rather than creating new apps each year, put the energy into fixing this one. Problems this year:
- no linking of waitlists, which makes waitlisting a movie very problematic. The vast majority of attendees do not go alone. Without the linking of accounts, this means it’s far more likely that one or both cannot get in
- it shouldn’t be so hard to find what screenings have tickets available. Display whether there are tickets in the schedule
- consider using notifications to indicate tickets available if I have shows or screenings that I’ve favorited. I spend SO much time refreshing and checking to see if tix are available. Such a waste of time.
- fix the performance issues during the event! Maybe the burden on the app is so high due to the poor design and inability to easily see when tix are available, but the app often is far too slow during the festivalShow lessSundance 2024
Very glitchy and can’t join a waitlist this year!
I’ve used the Sundance app in previous years to join waitlists for shows but this year the “join waitlist” functionality is not working in the app for me. I’m on an iPhone 12 and iOS 17 and the popup to confirm payment info for a waitlist opens but then disappears before I can click / confirm/ take the join waitlist action. Major bummer! Worse than previous years
Can’t filter by location. Can see the length of the films. Can’t filter on what’s available. Can’t even tell if there are tickets available for a certain showing. Can’t buy tickets though the app; it tries to open a prior year’s app and then just circles. Haven’t figured out yet if or how to waitlist through the app. Can’t get the maps to open or get any info on the venues or transportation. It does the same thing as when I try to buy tickets, just circles. I thought that maybe it was still in work but this is the second day of the festival, so I think it should be working by now. Definitely a few steps back from previous years rather than improving on previous years as would be expected. (I have an iPhone SE, iOS version 17.2.1)Show lessSundancer local
Limited info, no filter for location
Previous versions allowed for location filters, ie SLC v PC. This is very helpful and now not available.
Can’t find length of films anywhere either.

Pretty much rubbish!!!
Info and schedule is quite adequate. The rest of the features, spotty at best... and nothing is easy to find. Navigation is wonky. Want to buy tickets? Good f’n luck. Want to turn off the worthless notifications? Good f’n luck. The ewaitlist works pretty well. Impossible to see if any seats are actually available for purchase.Show lessappleFsucks
Waitlist shows failure even when it didn’t fail.
App is really useful, but my wife and I joined a waitlist, was told we didn’t make the waitlist, cancelled plans with friends, then discovered we did make the list and it was just an error.kingemer
Great app
Really user friendly app. Only complaint, when looking to see what films have availability while at Sundance I have to continually sign back into the app.nrbaime
The “Festival Map” link is broken
Great app, but we need to see a map to know where the shuttles pick up and where the theaters are, especially since some have been renamed. Currently, “Festival Maps” won’t load. Throw us a bone?jbtvguy
