Why is there even an app?
It seems every time we upload anything on the app we then need to follow up by calling customer service to follow up with the progress of our claims. Very little information is given about the specific type of receipts needed to process these claims and there is no communication from the company unless you call and talk to customer service. Why have an app at all?

Made contact with a specialist today. They were very informational and gave me a step-by-step instructions on how to file a claim for a check to be sent to my provider.

Great app and easy to use. Only issue is that sometimes it freezes and wonโt complete whatever transaction you are doing.

Crappy insecure signup / log in processes
Not sure I trust these guys with my money, but my options are none, since this is the company my employer has chosen. It should be noted, before I get into my complaint that Iโve had lunch with the execs at my company and they all sounded like theyโve had really bad experiences with Alerus.
My complaint:
Guided signup suggests you go through your phone, but that makes password managers difficult to use. I ended up using a basic password expecting to change it later. My password works fine on the phone but not at the website. Iโm stuck with a dumb password and the only way to manage my account is on the phone.

Handy but cumbersome
I wish there were a way to do recurring expenses. Itโs cumbersome entering the info for each appointment. But at least itโs handy for quickly uploading receipts
Alerus FSA app is not user friendly
This app is not intuitive or easy to use. I wanted to complete an expense request but not all options were functional. I couldnโt complete my transaction using the app. Fingers crossed the desktop site works.
