  • Sktchy! A Home Away from Home

Fantastic app that just gets better as time goes on. The founders and staff behind the scenes really listen to their community & try to find ways to keep it new & exciting. The artists and muses are supportive and friendly. I eschew as much social media as I can- but Sktchy is a positive environment -and after several years of using the app I think of it as my internet home gathering with my friends from all over the world.

  • Love this app

Love it although it is a bit heavy to run on my phone (much better on iPad). Ive running some snags with subscriptions not being recognized temporarily. However, being able to practice a technique I wouldn’t normally experiment with keeps my sketching interesting and sharpens my skills. Love it.
  • Interesting

Never seen an app like this- just for art. I like being able to share my art without feeling as if I'm boasting or bragging to those who don't care for it.
Just an app for artists and art lovers.
    Dig it.
  • A must-have for improving your art!

I adore this app; I've been using it for a few months now and it has been amazing. You create photo based on inspiration photos which is incredibly helpful to get you out of your head when you're blocked. The community is supportive and fantastic; I recommend it to any artist I talk to!
  • Love Love Love Sktchy!

Inspiring app that allows interaction with global artists, provides inspiration supplied by the artists, great tips and lessons, and an avenue to showcase your work and receive feedback. Really enjoy the personable feel of this app and could be on it every day for hours if I had the time!
  • Best Way to Improve

I started with 30 Faces/30 Days and now I’m doing Rise & Draw. It’s been better for my art than any workshop I’ve attended. I draw every day, get advice from pros and have joined a supportive group of both new and seasoned artists. 👍👍👍👍👍
  • Please uncurate the inspiration

This is my absolute favorite app and I don’t write reviews but it’s really upsetting that the photo inspiration is curated now. Please for the sake of art and the wonderful community that this app has made let us access all photos posted. I have been a part of Sktchy for several years. I recommend it to my friends etc. all the time. It is a wonderful, supportive community filled with talented, amazing people! But curating the inspiration cuts away so many of those people. I want to see everyone’s photos as an artist. I want to decide for myself who’s pictures I want to paint, not what the app thinks I should paint. I still love this app, I have learned from it and found confidence in my art as well. This is very serious though. We all deserve the opportunity for our pictures (just like our art) to be seen and embraced!! Please please please fix this heartbreaking situation!

  • Fun app, best community

This app is more about the community it has built than the coding and technology used to create it. You can interact with portrait artists from around the world. There is no harsh judgement unless you ask for a brutal critique. All skill levels of artists are embraced. There are many teaching artists who offer lessons through the app and the subscription which is totally worth it. Even if you don’t want to subscribe to the daily tips, you can simply comment an artist and they are more than willing to answer questions and offer advice. It’s a beautiful community that I am proud to be a part of.

  • Designed for success!

It is an app designed for simply posting stuff for artists to be inspired by and for artists to post their work attached with their inspiration. It eliminates the need for asking permission to draw someone or the threat of someone stealing your work.
It's a good simple community. Very encouraging.
  • It is one of my favorite apps.

Sharing your art on this is so fun because you either get positive feedback or constructive criticism because everyone on the app has a love for art themselves.

Another great thing is that it’s not totally over run with anime like other art apps (not saying that’s a bad thing, it just gets in the way if your not a fan of it) and doesn’t allow you to post images that are not your own.

Although the art you share on the app is meant to be created using an inspiration others post on sktchy, I do recommend they add an option to upload art that you didn’t use an inspiration for. Otherwise you get a lot of “Free draw” pictures.
