Only for drawing from photographs....
Very disappointing so far. Discovered very quickly that you can’t post a piece of art without also adding it’s ‘inspiration’ which appears always to be the photo often traced over to make the ’art’. I went with this and loaded up a dozen or so images that I like and could make into paintings. They took hours to finish uploading. When I finally found them online I tried again to upload a painting, and this time although I had uploaded the image I used for reference there was no way of accessing it, I could only choose random boring images from other people. I assume this is a bug? And if I should ever find it working I would find the way of accessing images very irritating. Sktchy ignores iPhoto albums (makes a few arbitrary ones of its own choosing) so I had to scroll back through months of images rather than being able to access my ‘art’ album. There's an astounding amount of participation in this app from users and it's very user friendly! I love seeing others' art and being an inspiration to someone else is awesome! It's a terrific way to find images to render. Folks who like your stuff can give you feedback. Of equal benefit is the huge amount of other people's work to see, study, and comment on. By presenting both the reference and the art side by side, the app gives you the opportunity to see how others handle a particular challenge. Sktchy is a great app for anyone who wants to have a photo of themselves transformed into a piece of art by amazingly wonderful artists. The app is also community based and brings models and artists together in the joy of art. I love Sktchy.serendipitous stars KS
Inspirational and life changing
I know that sounds extreme but for me and others I know it's true. I've always been an artist but tended to put it on the back burner in life. Sktchy got me drawing and creating regularly more than I've ever done before. Seeing others art motivated me to do more and push myself. Even the weekly challenges got me thinking differently and outside my norm. This is by far my favorite app with a wonderful, enriching community of artists!! You won't regret it. DOWNLOAD THIS APP!!!

Needs more publicity!
Sktchy is a great platform for artists to share their inspirations and pieces. And even gain motivation from other artists. Yea Instagram and Tumblr can compete, but sktchy is specifically for artists, especially for those who want practice. Sktchy should be publicized more.
