Strike the bell 2nd mate!
This app keeps bell time not much else to say other than it brings me lots of joy. There is an on and off switch if your house mates or other less salty companions get tired of know when their watch ends. It works is simple to use and is reasonably priced not much else to say. If you want a flawless ship's bell for your phone, this is it. It has the best functionality and best bell sounds and it makes the competition look amateurish by comparison. Let me put it this way: If the U.S. Navy had an official ship's bell iPhone app, it would be this one.Scott578369
You can take it with you
My great uncle James purchased a Chelsea Ship's Bell clock in 1914. When he passed in 1953, that clock was willed to my father. Now that clock is on the mantle in the Great Hall of my house where it continues to sound the watch every 30 minutes just as it has for the past hundred years.
Needless to say, I have a deep love for Ship's Bells. In that regard, I have purchased most all of the ship's bells apps available in the App Store searching for the Grail of Ship's Bells apps.
Dave Earnest's app is the app I choose to run. It allows me to take the ship's bells with me. It's sound is closest to the Chelsea Clock's bell. I can keep the watch on my Apple Watch and Dave is actively engaged in improving the app's performance. The only improvement I would like to see is the implementation of the ability to choose where sound the bells — the phone or the watch. [UPDATE: The inability to choose is a limitation of WatchOS. When WatchOS permits such selection, Dave is committed to make the changes necessary to allow for such selection.]
For my money, and in my opinion, this is the best implementation of Ship's Bells in the Apple universe. YMMV.Show lessAlien Grandfather

The sweetest and most realistic of all the ship's bell's apps I have tried. The clarity and timing of the strikes makes for accurate listening.
This latest version adds the selection of quieter bells and also no bells when, for example, sleeping. A 5-star in my opinion.PenBay Mariner

I love this app (My wife, not so much "TURN THAT OFF WHEN YOU COME HOME!") It allows me to keep track of the time both at my regular job, and when I'm working as a sailing instructor/charter captain without having to pull my phone out to look.Red Gallus
