  • Good but British–centric

For non–Brits, converting € to p isn’t high on our list of skills to master. I get that it’s a British–made app, but if you’re going to offer it up to the world, allow us to opt out of the skills that are specific to your country.

Thanks for your feedback. You can select the locale when first setting up the program, which will align to the curriculum and currency in your region – hopefully being a bit more relevant for the user! If you have any further queries, don't hesitate to drop us a line at hello@doodlemaths.co.uk.
  • Confidence builder!

My son is in year 6 but been struggling with maths since year 3, we have tried everything. He’s not interested in sitting down with a book or worksheets, we were at our wits end, didn’t want to fork out for a tutor... then we found DoodleMaths 🙂

As it’s an app it is more appealing, the in app games make it fun too and I can see after 32 days of using it alongside the times table app his confidence is building, he’s less hesitant, there’s less tears and it’s no longer a battle to get him to sit down. His maths age had already improved and I think continuing this way I will have him comprehensive school ready!

I also love the parents dashboard where you can add extras to their learning and see how they are getting on, a bit like secret squirrel spying without peering over their shoulder! Anything they are struggling with notified you for your to help them with later

We are very pleased with it 🙂

  • Disappointed

This app started out well and my children enjoyed it, but for the last while I noticed my child's data is not linking to the parent app, which really renders the app useless for me. I haven't had any proper progress updates on my child since he started using the app last year because his 6 a day Doodle points aren't being counted nor his work on this element being tracked. I would recommend you check the two apps are linking, otherwise you have no idea how your child is progressing, which is the whole point really.

Thanks for your messages to email you about the problem, but I have done this numerous times with only ‘we will get back to you once we have established what the problem is’.

  • A little gutted

It wasn’t until the recent update, that the app stopped letting my child complete extra - added extras. It will only allow him to do it once a day but his 6 a day (which you can’t choose the subject your child needs to improve most) will let him go on forever it seems. A little gutted as IXL have a vast library of information with no limits for £2 more a month which goes up to a fairly high age. I really liked this app at first. Shame about the cap on added extras bit, especially when it’s me paying £5 a month but then limiting how much my
    Son can use. Bit cheeky.

Sorry to hear this - although we do think you have this wrong and have perhaps misunderstood how the app works. First, if you want, you can add extra topics through the 'Grown Ups' section of the app, or the web-based parent dashboard. There are over 1000 topics to choose from - we cover, and are fully aligned to, the UK national curriculum. There's no limit to the number of topics you can add in a week, although the system doesn't allow you to add more than five at a time which is perhaps the issue you encountered. Having said that, the app works best (and can only guarantee progress) when you allow children to work through the work program (i.e. 7-a-Day and New this Week) that the in-built intelligence within the app assigns to them according to their level, strengths and weaknesses. We recommend you only assign Added Extras if you are certain it is a particular weakness or want to support a homework from school. It could be argued that for £2 less than the competitor you mentioned we offer more content, all fully-aligned to the UK curriculum and written by UK teachers, alongside unique, award-winning in-built intelligence that automatically and accurately assigns work automatically to your child according to their strengths and weaknesses as determined by the app. In this manner we can guarantee progress.
  • Best maths app for children

I have tried several apps to help my 9 year old improve his maths, but this one is head and shoulders above any others we have tried. My son really enjoys the app, he is really motivated by winning stars to buy prizes and it is definitely helping him improve his skills. We especially loved the advent calendar - the first thing he wanted to do when he woke up each morning of December was do his doodle maths to open a window!
Brilliant app, thank you so much.

One tiny negative point - my son uses the speaker button to hear the questions as he is dyslexic, and the word ‘multiplied’ is pronounced ‘mulitipleed’. It would be good if this could be fixed.

  • Free version

Making Maths fun and a wide range of Maths subjects.
  • Too little lessons per day

You don't add enough lessons for children it is a very limited amount of learning
  • Awesome app

    I love it
  • Wish I had read others reviews

I enjoyed the app for one day. After that you must upgrade or it is useless until one week later. You get one small session free a week. Plan on upgrading or deleting.
