It’s fine

Came here from the 5K app. While it tracks running and walking paces and distances covered fine, the system integration is a significant downgrade. I’m sure that has to do with how many people use this app and how big of a team/time the developers can dedicate to improvements vs maintenance. It doesn’t seem like there’s been a visual overhaul since the iphone 4 or something (which doesn’t ultimately matter) and the mid workout verbal prompts don’t work as easily, if you can get them to work at all (it takes a LOT of trouble shooting when the 5K version just worked). All said: it works and does the job it needs to do, but that’s it.

Meh

Assumes that you run on its schedule rather than checking when you run eg week x run 1 on a Thursday after 3 other runs; doesn’t monitor progress and set next run requirements accordingly

Not maintained

The pace clock stops, the gps is 0.02 km ahead when starting, the app was last refreshed for iOS 7. Maps need updating.

Fix the lock please

The locking on the 5k is better. I locked my app but somehow it came undone and my time restarted with 4 minutes left to go on my run. Not cool.

Great stepping stone

I’ve been running 5k for about a year and needed to find an app to help me a) get quicker and b) transition to 10K. This app is perfect for it and is really helping

Free and it works

Pretty good, but wish it showed the entire plan for the run, not just what segment comes immediately after the current one. Still, I like that it’s free and doesn’t require pages of surveys about your goals before getting started. The voice prompts work for me too.

Great app

I’ve been using this app since 2018, and it has been my go-to training companion for every 10K race. It keeps me on track, motivated, and ready to perform at my best!

Kind of unusable

Needs a major update to run well on the current operating system

App doesn’t work

So generous of them make an app worse than the original. Did you guys test this even once? my hunch is no because then you’d know the halfway, running and walking cues all doesn’t work, at least not when listening to music which everyone does while they run.

Great app that helps you instill a training plan

I used the Couch to 5k to start running then I made the transition to the 5k to 10K app so I could get better at 5k’s. The 3 day plan you get here will greatly help you too!

Worked for a while, then useless

This app worked fine for the first part of training but suddenly quit cueing, tracking distance, pace, etc. So now I’m 2/3 of the way through training and have to switch to a new app.

Needs voice commands

I like the app for the over all use, but couch to 5k is much better for over all feel. This app doesn’t tell you what you should be doing inside of the run. Let’s say you’re supposed to do a 10 min jog then a 7 min tempo run, but then a 10 min jog. It will tell you to start your first jog, but a voice won’t tell you to do the tempo or the second jog, it sends me a notification. But no actual voice tells me what to do.

Excellent little app

Have used the interval runs regularly over the last four years. Nice to see how my performance has fluctuated over the years. You can log notes against a run along with an emoji. I can see tough runs today were tough before.

Prettier but not as good as C25k

At first the 5k to 10k app looks nicer, in practice it's inferior to C25k. There are no voice prompts mid run, so I have to look at my watch. There is no "Week <x> Day <y>" screens to share, just a nondescript "Finished" screen. That said the workouts are great.

A bit glitchy

Program is ok as a follow on from Couch to 5K but does not run as well, the commands only come through now and again so I have to guess timings for each stage
It’s very glitchy but it gives me weekly goals which is great
All the voices (when they work) are super annoying!

Error Code 500

Can’t login via email or facebook. I’ve deduced it’s this app at fault as facebook emailed to say my Facebook info had been shared with you. My preference wouldn’t have been to share my Facebook profile with your app but I wasn’t getting anywhere with just my email and password.

I get the above code when I ask for a password link to be sent to my email.

I can’t see the point in this app if you can’t login & keep track of your progress/runs.

Let’s face it you’re not scoring high with this app - I’ve read the reviews!

Apple Watch??????

Why is there no 5k to 10k app for Apple Watch???

Could be better

Would like voice prompts during run. I have to keep getting my phone out to check which part of the run I should be doing.

Too finicky to be useful

The app requires you to have your phone with the ringer on, screen permanently unlocked and only works with Apple Music. My phone has been on silent since 2012, and if I run with my screen unlocked, I’m begging for issues (workout paused, skips ahead, skips back, etc). I don’t care about not being able to use other music apps as I use Apple Music but I care very much about having to use it within the app which means I can only listen to my playlists and in the order I put them together, not shuffled. The workouts are good and offer a great variety, but if I have to follow all these rules to get to them (and then they might be skipped around) what’s the point? I’m not bothering with contacting support.

I just use Garmin Connect to build workouts lifted directly from the app. At least then I know I won’t have any issues.

Shame about the voice cues

Such a great programme to take you from 5k to 10K. Well paced, safely increasing runs just such a shame the the voice cues seem so hit and miss. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don’t. Pleeeeeease fix!!!!
