Used to work

It seems to do nothing now. My bike computer headsets all see the different 4iiii cranks I use so I’m not wholly out of luck. But firmware scans and updates are apparently no longer an option. Seems likely it is abandoned as a software solution. Consider another product.

Basics are ok, bike index integration laughable

This app finds my power meter without issue and the battery meter works as expected. The zero offset calibration seems to work well but there is no indication of an offset number so it is hard to tell if it is reasonable or consistent.
The link to bike index for me was laughable, worst I have seen in a long time. I entered my bike on the bike index website but linking the power meter to the bike via the app was beyond unstable, the bike would disappear, all entered text would disappear. I gave up after 5 tries, all with the same result.
I haven’t seen a firmware update yet so I can’t comment on that functionality.

Sort this out.

App doesn’t pair to power meter. I know it’s working as head unit can pick it up. Pretty poor.

Will not connect

Whilst the belt connects to my iPhone it will not detect in the app. Used to be great but now woefully inadequate and outdated. Avoid and find something else.

Weird but working UI

As a mobile app dev, I found the UI a bit strange. But everything seems to be working fine which is the most important.

Not working

I got a brand new precision 3 power meter with ultegra crank and it is not working. App is connecting to the device, I can calibrate it and then nothing shows on a ride besides gps read distance. I tried watch, phone, both and went back to apple workout app forgetting about my power measurements.
Everything I go for a ride I try and same thing happens, rubbish

Latest revision doesn’t connect to power meter.

My app updated and lost the power meter. Watch is still connected, which is preferable. As others have said. It works some times. Others doesn’t.

I would rather have the watch app work than the phone app though. Crossing my fingers I don’t update that on accident.

Cranks are awesome though. So keep that up 4iii

Delete and reinstall app if not working

Spent a year troubleshooting and sending in for warranty etc. problem ended up getting solved by deleting the app, forgetting all sensors. Factory resetting sensors by installing battery backwards and then properly installing batteries and reinstalling/ downloading app

When it works, it works well. But when it doesn’t…

It’s VERY frustrating, especially when you don’t realize the ride somehow stopped recording until AFTER your ride is done. And there is no partial FIT file that at least captured part of the ride before it stopped. Like someone mentioned, it may be the notifications. Was hoping to avoid using my HRM strap for my commutes but not at the expense of potentially missing a whole ride.

And not supporting multiple power meters is a pain.

Another pain point - it seems to keep running in the background even after a ride, drawing down the Watch battery.

Response from developer

We apologize for the frustrating experience. After long investigation we concluded the issue is caused by an Apple framework bug connected with notifications. The app is not crashing or failing, but is being terminated by the system for excessive CPU use - incorrectly, because the Ride app doesn’t receive a backgrounding notice when a notification overlay presents. The good news is that this issue does not appear to be a problem on watchOS 10, but only on watchOS 9. If you need to stay on watchOS 9 a possible workaround is to create a Fitness Focus so that notifications don’t overlay the app. Thanks for your feedback!

Multiple Powermeters

Like other users reviewed, you have to remove the older power meter from the account before you pair the new one, otherwise the app won’t find the new one(s) via Bluetooth.

I had a one-side precision 3, then bought a dual-side precision pro. The app only identifies the right side of the pro. Took me an hour to figure this out and I thought the left side was defective.

I understand there could be limitations on the connections related to multiple Bluetooth or whatever. How about at least add a warning to the description or on your website as FAQs? Very disappointed.
