Hey! Thank you for your 5 star review!

Lack options to advance journey

Like other reviewers pointed out, I used to get my daughter ready for Grade 1. She liked at first but then lost interest because of the pace of the lessons. I wish the app would adjust to the user and speed up the pace when needed. She also doesn’t like that she has to wait for instructions before marking some of the words she already understands. It’s a very good app tho.

Canadians Beware!

We have loved the homer app for our 6 and 2.5 year old, it’s a great app. The issue I have with it is that after the three trial period ends, you’re charged $112 CAD if you picked the one year subscription. That would have been fine but when I signed up for the year, the website (which is where I signed up) said 59.99 for the year…. But apparently that was in US. It would be nice if the website said that you’d be charged US so you were aware… and also… the math doesn’t make sense.. it charged me 79.99 US on my visa bill. Really hoping a customer service rep will contact me back as I have already emailed them and am waiting a response. So disappointing… $112 is a lot of money for a year subscription.

I was charged almost $100

I didn’t give them a bank account number.

We appreciate you bringing the situation to our attention and apologize for the disappointment. If a trial was activated through Apple, it's possible that the subscription was billed through Apple if it wasn't canceled before it ended. Please contact us at support@learnwithhomer.com for additional assistance.

What did you do to the app?

All the characters, the games, the style and everything was replaced, the character used to be a pigeon teacher but now it’s just boring new characters! Can you bring back the old version? My 4 year old daughter is devastated.

Cancelled and they still take your money

Cancelled 2 years ago and they’re still taking my money as it is linked through “iTunes” which doesn’t exist anymore.

App keeps freezing

As somebody who is blind and artistic, this is one of the few apps that doesn’t cause me to have sensory overload with the character voices. The only issue I am having with it is it keeps freezing when I’m doing it nativity. Even when I turn the Internet off to use my mobile data, it still does that. on my phone, it either freezes or it sometimes runs very very slow. Please fix. I have an iPhone 11. sorry for the typos, I meant blind and autistic. Not artistic. Also, please bring back the HOMER stories! They were awesome! I really like the stories where it just basically reads it to you, like as if someone were reading you a stories like the homer originals that you guys used to have. that was cool. I like that you put real audiobooks in there though. And other than that, could you please fix the freezing issue? thank you and keep up the good work.

Not Compatible with Screen-time/Parental Controls

We subscribed to this application but instead of a program that functions within its own platform, it seems to link to websites. We have Internet browsers strictly controlled on our children's devices except for websites that have been entered manually into a list of "allowed websites." When the links within the Homer application jump to a browser window, a white screen appeara with the error message:
"Restricted Site
You cannot browse this page at "localhost" because it is restricted."

and there is no website addresses displayed, so I am unable to add anything into the list of allowed websites. As a cosequence, we are left with an application that is not usable.

Great but needs a few things if I’m going to pay

This app is great. Easy for my kid to navigate and he enjoys most of the games. However, some games should have a way for parents to adjust the difficulty or the app to recognize when to adjust the difficulty level for some things. For example, the pizza making math game is great but is too easy for my kid. I feel he would benefit from some increased challenge by adding more toppings or increasing the amount of required toppings. It’s always “place 1 pepperoni” or “place 3 mushrooms.”

Also, I would be happy to pay if there were stories that were interactive. My kid likes the storybooks one with the little girl and was confused when she asked a question and you couldn’t interact to help her solve the answer but instead you wait around and it happens on its own. Sorry , that was a long sentence. I am very tired and probably have better things to do, but I hope you know what I just meant. But yeah, interactive stories and real time problem solving.
