I like this app but it would be even better if there was a way to make a IaR CarPlay app that would during an alarm turn down the radio and read the cad/card. Let you say your response and then present you a mapping option or cad map. This would improve safety while bringing a great new feature that would be desirable for those with modern vehicle displays that utilize hands free from the respective device. Another would be the ability to listen to radio traffic for the first 30 mins ok the call. So that if a response it canceled or the situation evolves responders a advised.

  • Not receiving notifications

I am not receiving notifications or text message and have tried deleting and redownloading multiple times
  • New design is absolutely unusable

Please give us an option to use old list design instead of cards overlay. This is not an app for teenagers, so don't make it look like one. There was nothing wrong with the simple list and details.

We only have a few seconds to consume the information on the call and the new card UX makes it very cumbersome to get to the details and see who is responding. A lot of times map is only a secondary piece of information that is needed to get to the last 10% of the route so it doesn't need to be front and center. No need for a multitude of options on the screen. All we need is two buttons - respond and view other responses. that's it. 🚒

  • Okay App

IAR is an okay app to use. Most of the addresses are correct with the occasional hiccup. The one thing I like is the ability to see how many, who and how long it’s going to take for people to come back to the station when we get a call.

The new update that was completed a week ago is terrible though. The whole user face for the CAD and pre-alerts is different and it just doesn’t work that well. There seems to not be any flow to it like there was before this most recent update. Would love if they changed it back.

Other than that, the app is good for its purpose.

  • Broken on iOS 13.6 iPhone XS Max

They refuse to help fix the app bug, so now I am stuck using the browser on my phone while driving to a call
  • New incidents or messages pulls up previous

Not sure if it was a recent update or what but now when we get notifications for a new incident or message and you tap it to open, the previous incident or message is brought up instead and you have to back out and reload the list to find the right one then tap that.
  • We love it, great customer support

We have been using IaR for probably close to seven years now. At first we didn’t have it set up with our 911 center but once we did - game changer. We put a large monitor up in our truck room with IaR on it. Our first due coverage area is 40 square miles, very helpful to know exactly where you are going while donning gear. Other features are great: knowing who is coming and where they are (tracking), map markers, ability to import hydrant data, pre-plans, geo-fences, calendar of events, expiration tracker, personnel availability, two tone detect, etc. Very few problems over the years, customer support is always on top of things and quick to resolve issues.

  • Useful for volunteer services

Very useful to see your staffing so long as all of your responding members can be convinced to use it. At a volunteer fire house it’s good to know when you should roll with what you have and when you should wait an extra 60 seconds for more firefighters.

As for connectivity, there are generally no problems within my municipality. Issues only seem to occur in areas like college campuses where there are multiple wifi sources or poor cell coverage.

The mapping feature is almost never used in my department and it is usually easier for our officers (or whoever ends up in the officer seat) to pu the address into Waze or our gps

  • 3 stars only

For an emergency service there are way to many glitches. Now it may be glitches on the dispatch side but to me that would indicate more training on the app side.
Also. If this had CarPlay that would be amazing. Having hands free capabilities is always safer while driving.
  • Don't use!!

This app is absolute garbage for any kind of volunteer service. It's confusing and is NOT user friendly in any way. We switched from EDispatch and I would go back in a second! Not only does the app have so much going on that it's hard to navigate but if you want to change your settings you have to go to the website and then try navigating that labyrinth to get anything changed for the app 🤦🏻‍♂️🙄
