Description of Lexia Core5 Reading

Use of this app requires an active account for Lexia® Core5® Reading. If you do not have a username and password, please contact your school for more information. About Lexia Core5 Reading: Personalized. Powerful. Proven. Built on the science of reading, Lexia Core5 Reading accelerates the development of literacy skills for students of all abilities in grades preK–5, helping them make that critical shift from learning to read to reading to learn. Based on performance on a research-validated, adaptive auto-placement, students begin Core5 at the level that's just right for them. From there, Core5 seamlessly adapts with student performance, targets skill gaps as they emerge, and equips educators with the data and instructional resources they need to personalize instruction for every student. The adaptive blended learning structure embedded in Core5 provides an explicit, systematic, personalized approach to reading instruction. The program is organized around six critical areas of reading: • Phonological Awareness • Phonics, Structural Analysis • Automaticity/Fluency • Vocabulary • Comprehension Based on student performance, Lexia's Embedded Assessment technology provides teachers and administrators real-time progress monitoring data—without stopping classroom instruction to give a test—saving up to a month of instructional time by • identifying student risk levels • predicting future performance • prescribing instructional intensity • providing real-time data and action plans Within the first month of use, teachers will know each student's probability of meeting end-of-year, grade-level benchmark, and will receive the recommended resources and intensity of instruction necessary to improve students’ learning trajectory. In just minutes, administrators can see a full picture of academic progress across a district, school, grade, and class, down to the individual student, through easy-to-interpret, actionable reports. About Lexia: Lexia®, a Cambium Learning Group company, is the Structured Literacy expert. For nearly 40 years, the company has focused solely on literacy, and today provides science-of-reading-based solutions for both students and educators.
