Excellent!

I got this thinking it would be Jenny just like the rest. Wow! It really works! I’m blown away at hot go accurate it is I probably didn’t really even need to calibrate it, but I calibrated it to my cameras white balance so they match. Great work developer!

Great app!

Sold my colour meter many years ago and have found a need for one currently.
Found this amazing app which provides me accurate enough readings for my purpose at an extremely low investment!
If you are looking for a quick reasonably accurate way of getting colour temperatures for a variety of applications this is it!

Impressive!

Got the three day trial and after testing I’m paying for the pro version. Way more accurate than I figured it would be. If you have proper light sources you can calibrate the app to you particular phone for even better results.
It works best in a dark environment so you’re only measuring the light you want. I just used a sheet of white paper and tested different flashlights in a dark room. For household lights, I waited until dark and tested by only turning on the light I wanted to measure. Worth the small fee for a lifetime license.

Am I going to be billed? I DONT know…

After installing, ( not before ) I’m hit with subscription. It’s not the money, it’s the complete lack of mention that this is a subscription. The ONLY option is ‘click to continue’ followed by a ‘cancel anytime’ note. But, where is the ‘cancel’ button?! Yeah, the app might be good, but I don’t trust anyone who isnt upfront about a few bucks. No go here.

Response from developer

Thanks for your feedback! I apologize for the confusion - just click the "Close" button to try the app for a few weeks without signing up. If you decide to subscribe, there is a link saying "Handle or Cancel Ongoing Subscription" where you can cancel your subscription at any time. (There is also a pay once-and-for-all option.) Thanks again for pointing out that this is unclear - I will try to make this more clear.

Surprisingly accurate

As a theatre photographer I find this app extremely useful, and very accurate once calibrated. I tested it against a resident film crew’s more elaborate and more expensive hand held colour meter and they were shocked to see how accurate this app is.

Great app

I must say, I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon this application, especially given its niche customer base. As a screen and media teacher, I recently purchased the app and have been incorporating it into my lighting class for the past few days. Overall, it’s been a great addition to my teaching tools.

Bravo

Well designed and ececuted app. Compares closly to my Minolta Color Meter. Easy to use and consistant. Very helpful to reveal "mismatch" of light sources. Have tried other apps of similar purpose but none have delivered like this one.

Bravo

Well designed and well executed. Works as well as my Minolta color meter. Purchased the lifetime license. Hope you never have to go to a full subscription license like one of the popular film apps has recently done. Thanks for a well designed product.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your kind words and support! I am thrilled to hear that you find the app well designed and that it works as well as your professional Minolta color meter! Share it with the world =)

Very accurate

I’ve found this to be a very accurate meter for color temperature, I tested against various light bulbs where I knew the exact color temp and it was spot on. I also appreciate the measurement of color tint, which was a big part of why I downloaded this app, I am looking at ways to incorporate that into my photo adjustments. The flash filter recommendations may also come in handy too.

Very well conceived and designed!

I struggled to find an intuitive and well designed White Balance Kevin Meter.

Either they didn’t work, wouldn’t scale properly for my screen size or lacked a camera preview window, to be 100% sure if what readings I was really taking. (What was the camera actually aimed at?).

This app checks all the boxes of elegant, fast, scalable, accurate and highly intuitive.

The only challenge I had was not fully understanding the need to use a piece of paper to sample the reflected light from - and came to see that using a piece of paper either as a diffuser (hold over lens) or as a reflective surface to be used with one’s light source, balances out the readings very nicely.

I’m not a Photographer, but wanted to measure the Light Temperature of some very obnoxious Street Lights which are well over 5,000 Kelvin - far above the AMA’s guideline of them being under 3,000 Kelvin (even lower is better 2,200 to 2,700 even).

The Developer couldn’t be better. Super kind, responsive and skilled.

Very satisfied and highly recommend this effective and elegant app!
