I feel scammed. Bought Filmic Pro a couple of years ago and now they’ve switched to a subscription business model. I can’t even access the Filmic Legacy app. Wish I could get my money back from these thieves.
Thankful For Legacy Version
I was miffed, to say the least, when I discovered that the Filmic Pro app that I had previously purchased had been changed to a subscription model. As far as I could tell, I could not download or send pre-recorded videos to my camera roll (among other previously available features) unless I paid for a fairly expensive subscription. It might be worth it to professionals or content creators, but I’m a casual user for personal purposes. More than a year after this discovery (after which I had stopped using the app for obvious reasons, but luckily didn’t delete it because I didn’t want to lose my videos), I went back to read the reviews of others in the same boat. The developers responded to some of those reviews with instructions on how to download this legacy version (for those who had previously purchased the original app) and move previously recorded video files from the Filmic Pro file folder to the newly created Filmic Legacy file folder on my iphone. There is even a tutorial video of the file transfer process. So my app (Filmic Legacy now) is completely functional again, and I have complete access/control of my videos, including downloading or sending videos to my camera roll. I knocked off one star because this information, as far as I know, was never sent to those who had previously purchased the Filmic Pro app. I was just lucky to discover the legacy version on my own. Hopefully, this review will help others.

Old legacy Version 6 Not working properly
Subscription model changeover - you are joking. Have now deleted all versions. Old one (v6 legacy) doesn’t work now (won’t work horizontally even though orientation lock is off). Another example of a great product ruined by corporate greed and not seeking customer advice.
Purchased why the pop ups now?????
I’m one of the early adopters who paid for this app to make it successful. Now, every time I open the app, there is some annoying pop up promoting the new subscription based app and this is annoying. I paid for this product in full, I don’t want annoying pop-ups, I want a “don’t show this message again” checkbox to be added. I want to use what I paid for to quick fire my camera without nuisance.

Why are you constantly asking me to download filmic pro subscription??? I am not gojng to upgrade. I already spent 30 quid on the old version before you changed it. Now you're bombarding me to upgrade
Pop-Ups Stop Recording…
I went to record a two hour concert of a band that I haven’t seen in this area for eight years. Even though I had airplane mode on, cellular data off and the phone silenced, there were two times I got a pop-up about the v7 while I was recording and unknowingly lost 10 minutes or so before I realize I needed to push the record button again. i’m hoping it was just a glitch or a bug.
Question:
The next time I need to record something lengthy, can I subscribe to the V7 for that week and will it prevent pop-ups over on the V6 until the sub expires?? Thanks

I see years of 5 Star reviews here been removed, ss that we leave negative reviews, and others pay your subscription.
I have always believed that developers should be paid a fair price, for a good app, and you took my money for that, then made it a subscription. I didn’t pay for a ‘Legacy’ app.

Shame on the developers
I went on a trip and busted out my phone to use filmic to capture some nature. Well the app wouldn’t load, why? Because it wanted to do some licensing check or load some bs nag screen when I was in the forest without any data signal. I do not want to upgrade to another version because I paid good money for this app and I want to be able to access it when I want to and not be nagged every time to upgrade.

Bait and switch
Your company should be sued to be honest. I paid $100 for the app bundle and features only for your company to make it subscription based less than a year later while leaving us with an app that will likely be less usable and more prone to exploits and vulnerabilities as time goes on. The least that your company, Filmic Pro, can do is give decent updates to the app (not updates that will break the app) from time to time. But you won’t even do that. One day some of you companies are going to learn the hard way. Do right by your customers. We made you.

Disgusting
I bought the Filmic Pro Camera Kit which included FP and the Remote (control with another device like an iPad) and now with the switch to subscriptions don’t have the app I paid for (no I’m not paying more money after paying full price already) and also don’t appear eligible for the FP Legacy app (bc I bought a bundle?!) as no matter what there is no download available to me in the Settings/info tab. So like $30 spent and devs employ the old bait and switch and presto-blammo we consumers are once again screwed over.
