Spent an hour on two different devices trying to get this app to do what it claims to do. The queue at ICN is less of a waste of time.

Hello! If you have an American passport you have to scan holding the passport horizontally, towards where you open the book in the middle. Worked perfectly. Those who complained about the app not being able to scan were being dumb.

The process doesn’t work at all if you have American-based airlines boarding pass.
Practically useless app
I have iPhone 10 and wife have iPhone 13 and we try both phones was not able to scan chip with either of phones, such of waste of time!
Zero star if I could. Never work on scanning the passport. Why bother pushing out this app if it never works. Typical government back app. Hire someone from the industry and rework it completely.
What is this, please release something that works.
In my case, iphone(11pro max) easily recognized the microchip without its cover.
