I got the game today and I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I got the payed part and it was cool to have more platoon upgrades and more artillery strikes but it only works on one game save. That is the annoying part, another annoying part is that when after a battle you lose a platoon when it says recruit, but when you click recruit it just freezes and doesn’t work just like when you try to change the weather. But all in all it is a good game it just needs a lot of work as do a lot of new games, but I understand the bugs since it just releases but those are my problems, hope this comes I handy😀.

- Spencer @ Dad MadePatch! Definitely has potential, I’m having trouble with my alpha platoon, they all died and when I go to recruit another platoon it freezes and I have to reopen the game. It also doesn’t make sense that I have to pay $3 for every save that I want to start on, I already payed once and that should be enough.

- Spencer @ Dad MadeI don’t normally spend money on games, but after downloading this one, and realizing that it’s basically just a demo with more features locked behind a $3 paywall, I thought why not, the game seemed fun and I wanted access to more features.
After I spent the $3, I quickly realized nothing really changed, the only things you get are access to an extended upgrade tree, which I saved up points to but the first upgrade and all it did was take my 50 points and didn’t actually unlock anything, access to better upgrades for yours platoons, which as stated in other reviews, doesn’t really matter cause your troops will always win if you just leave them in the trench and let the mow down every enemy. The other gem you get by spending $3 is the ability to change the weather for your battles, however any time I try to do that it just causes the game to crash.
That’s about all you get, not sure if this is a lone programmer or small team of programmers or what but this game needs serious work before anybody should be spending anything on it.
I encourage you to try the free version, as it is fun for about 15 minutes or so, but do not expect much behind this cheeky paywall. 👎🏽👎🏽

Our intention upon release was for To The Trenches to include some features as part of the free version with additional features reserved for those who supported the game via the 1-time purchase of the Unlimited Version. The current Unlimited Version includes features such as upgraded artillery, battlefield soldier boosts, passive upgrades as well as the ability to fully upgrade platoon stats. As of right now, when unlocking platoon upgrades in the Officer Tree, there is no visual identifier that indicates that anything has changed, but I assure you that the upgrade has applied. This is valuable feedback, and we plan to roll out changes to address this concern. With the issue regarding errors when changing the weather, v1.2.7 resolves it. Dad Made is a small team that is very passionate about player experience and plans to continue delivery of new content, as well as learn and grow with our community. - Spencer @ Dad MadeThe game is fun, thats not the issue, the issue is with trying to purchase or change any settings, i purchased the unlimited version and i went ahead and purchased a couple of their “war bonds” so i can upgrade my mortar cannon, days later the app is acting as if i had not purchased the unlimited version and my as i try to purchase more bonds im receiving an error, when i try to change the weather i get the same error message, at this point all im allowed to do is play the same scenario over and over and its frustrating, if im provided an email address i can send a Screen shot of the error message

- Spencer @ Dad MadeGame was fun but still has lots of bugs, I get error codes for multiple things. It is a very interesting game but needs more battle options. I enjoy the style of play but gets old fast. For completing battles in a certain time bonus points should be added.

- Spencer @ Dad MadeIt would be a 5 immediately, but whenever I try to change the weather condition (I purchased the unlimited edition) my game crashes, same with trying to recruit a new squad after having one wiped out, meaning I’m soft locked from progressing in the game, I don’t know why this is happening and it’s really frustrating. Please fix this because I really enjoy the game and want to be able to play again

- Spencer @ Dad MadeThis game is great! But there is currently a bug where my Alpha platoon gets wiped out every match and then it asks me to recruit another but once you click the button the game freezes and it becomes unplayable. If you could fix this my review would go up.
I really enjoy the game, it’s fun to see my men march across the field and see the huge explosions with the artillery. The only issue I have with the game is that I lost a platoon and I can’t get them back. Every time I click to get them back the game crashes. The game is new and more is to come and I hope they can fix this problem. Great game hope Yall enjoy it as I do

- Spencer @ Dad MadeThe unlimited version is only three dollars US which is a fair price to support the dev and comes with a lot of great stuff. The game can be repetitive but it’s really fun to strategize and ration your platoons. In all it’s still new and needs some work but really fun I hope that this project is not abandoned
