It’s cool but…

So being a female user of this app, I have experienced a lot of aspects about this app and I think that lot of people don’t actually know or want to know how this app is. So first off I just wanna say that this app is a great outlet for girls And guys to find people their age was similar interest to hang out with. I like it because you can see people in your area and you can connect with them so you guys can hang out faster. But what I don’t like is some girls on this app will lie about their sexuality just to get you to hang out with them and the whole time they’re trying to be intimate with you when you thought that you found a genuine friend to hang out with. I also think that there should be some type of mod on the app for responding to people because girls will text you first and then stop using the app. It’s a cool idea 100% but it’s just flawed in the ways of safety kind of and practicality.

shouldn't have to pay an arm and a leg to make friends, and the time limit on responding is awful, but other than that it serves its purpose - plus the name is cute

gender-locking friendship is archaic

Bumble believes men can only be friends with other men, women can only be friends with other women, and that nonbinary people don’t have a place in either. It’s sad to see friendships gender-locked like this.

Wish I knew if the app was worth it lol

Man it won’t let me past the loading page. I’m seeing this review often, does it ever actually get fixed? I’d like to actually be able to make my account. I’ve tried deleting and redownloading the app but it just lets me open it, then loads on a yellow screen forever…

Strict gender options

The app is okay to meet people if you only want to meet friends in your similar gender. Like if your non-binary, bff will show you other non-binary people. only. It was cool at first but I also want friends who are men, women, and non-queer too. I tested it out when I changed my gender to man and it showed me people I’ve never even seen before. It can be extremely limiting to finding friends when you’ve run out of people in your area who shares ur gender. And as a nonbinary person, it can very limiting if there isn’t a lot of nonbinary/openly nonbinary people in your area. I want to be friends with people of all types of genders but bumble bff just won’t allow that and it’s unfortunate when bumble bff is one of the better apps I’ve used to try to make friends locally. It’s really a shame and I would love the app so much more if it just changed that one little thing.

Edit: I just don’t see the benefit of keeping the app cuz I haven’t seen any new profiles in months cuz I ran out of non binary folks in my area.

This app keeps showing men

The bee hives are full of men and most of them are looking for hookups and potential romantic relationships. Bumble BFF used to only show you people the same gender and now they show men who use this app for predatory reasons. They also integrated AI responses, which is stupid and makes people lazier (not talking about people with disabilities). The font is smaller/condensed, and you have the scroll endlessly to find a hive instead of typing it out/filtering it by age, activities etc.

Shadow banning

Idk if I was shadow banned, or if Bumble intentionally doesn’t show your profile to people when you stop paying, or if bumble is just full of inactive accounts / bots. In several months of use I only ever got one match that was a real woman. When I tried premium with filters (basics, same religion, no smoking, no kids) I exhausted a 120 mile radius in a metroplex of 8 million in two or three days. Look, I’m not delusional to think I’m the hottest guy out there, I’m fairly average, but I take care of myself and my appearances. I also know the “beauty range” I successfully date in. To get so little interaction after so much time makes zero sense to me. Something is going on, and while American women are increasingly having unrealistic dating expectations, I cannot blame how little interaction I got on women. There is something fishy going on with this app. Don’t waste your time or money on it, you won’t find any real women.
