User Interface Design is poor
Response from developer
Aloha and mahalo for reaching out! We are sorry! We did not receive any email with this type of question and I looked back through our app feedback and did not see anything there, either. What email addy did you use? Please email us at app@hawaiirevealed.com. For finding beaches, a couple of ways - you can go to the Beaches section of app and use Filters to find beaches by location first and "good snorkeling" is also a filter - along with many other filters like lifeguards, facilities, etc. On the map you can check what beaches are around you and see the reviews from the map. You may select an annual subscription option within the app instead of monthly. Please reach out to us with any comments and other feedback at the email above. Mahalo for being a fan of our books.
worth every penny and then some!
Doesn’t work without WiFi
Update: Developer responded but instead of asking why the latest version of the app doesn’t work with 5G / sans WiFi (not in a remote spot so it ought to, like every other app out there), they advised unnecessarily downloading a lot of content and filling up my phone to access the whole package of information offline. Please just fix the app so it works with 5G instead of disagreeing with reported user experience. It appears to be a bug with this latest version.
Less than one star and still deleted.
Response from developer
Aloha and mahalo, our app does work without both WIFI and cellular without a purchase. We checked new devices with a new accounts and are unable replicate your issue. We did this before download of the map or any in-app purchase. We are happy to look into this issue directly with more details via email at app@hawaiirevealed.com we are here to help. With specifics we can look into this further. The drive tour app works similarly - the map is downloaded after purchase, that is automatic so no need for either cellular or wireless to use the drive tour.
Informative and Fabulous

Aloha and mahalo for your super kind 5 star review! We are so happy to read that you are also a loyal fan. Look for more from Andrew coming this year - the locations start popping up in your app in 2024. We do hope you will return to Hawaii again soon. Aloha and a hui hou

I’m confused, (but feeling better)
The Developer contacted me and gave me full access to their new app. I’m still a little confused as to why both apps are there.
We are heading to Oahu next week, so I’ll have a better idea of the new app.
Response from developer
Aloha Dan, please reach out to us at app@hawaiirevealed.com. Glad we got you got you set up. We have to support both apps for now as we have people using one or the other. We are moving folks like you over so you can enjoy the new app. Hope you had fun on O‘ahu. Aloha
Great books, poor app
Maps would be a useful feature, but only a very small number of reviewed locations are clickable. Even for those, they don’t show on the map until you zoom way in. The app clearly uses Apple/google maps, so why are only reviewed locations clickable? And why can’t I choose to view both beaches and sights?
I feel swindled out of $12. Thankfully, I remembered to cancel the subscription before it auto-renewed.
Response from developer
Aloha and mahalo for your feedback. That is a great suggestion on being able to choose more than one activity on the map! We are adding that to our updates list. The maps are sourced, our old maps (done by us) didn't show every street for example or sight or business - only what we talked about in our app, so it's just like the older app in that way. We are continuing to make improvements in our app based on suggestions from users like you. If you want to be a part of our focus groups (which is how we came up with this app), please reach out to app@hawaiirevealed.com. We would love to have you.
