Buggy and overall not a good app

I use to have Go365 and it was much easier to earn points. It seems like with this app either you complete an hour and half workout or you get a certain amount of steps in for the day. Due to my work schedule, this isn’t possible but I do taking walking breaks at work. It’s just frustrating when you workout six times a week and you at rewarded for it. The app also kicks me out so I’m constantly having to log back in for the points to update. Very disappointed in the app overall and would not recommend it.

Greetings, we are sorry to hear you are not happy with how your points are being awarded. Please know we understand that all members are different in terms of how they are staying active which is why we award points based on three levels of intensity: light, standard and advanced. If you need more information on how to earn points for your physical activity or you keep getting kicked out of the app, please email us at Mobile_App_Communication@vitalitygroup.com.

Plagued with performance issues

Most of the time spent in this app is watching a blue spinner icon against a white background waiting for data to load. It is very frustrating and saps my energy to participate in my company’s wellness benefit.

The software engineers building this application either have no budget for resources or have no idea how to store data efficiently for quick retrieval.

Login takes forever and it forgets my credentials every time I use it, making it inconvenient to login.

Then we have the organization of the app. Earning points can be arbitrary. You can get 50 points for finishing a marathon (26.2 miles) or just watch a 12 minute webinar for the 50.

The organization of the Home Screen has chunky tiles that drastically reduce the number of datapoints you can see. It would be better if they were a list to increase the density. You find yourself trying to scroll to see all your goal tracking (drink water, get sleep, eat vegetables, etc)

The main goals of getting steps, burning calories, and exercising at an elevated heart rate are not exactly front and center.

If you are building a wellness app, this is an example of what not to do.

Garbage

So my company (like many others here) use this to get discounts on insurance. It would be really great if the app actually allowed me to log in. Seems like a pretty simple issue that could be fixed easy. Normally I wouldn’t be this critical but: 1. Many others have had this issue and no one from the dev team seems to care, and 2. I can’t even get past the login screen! When it asks to verify through email and I input the pin, it says it is incorrect. I can’t express enough how incredibly stupid this is. I love it when app developer companies push you to “Get the app!” But they can’t even iron out their own issues. Ridiculous.

They really ruined a good thing!

This WAS a great app and a great program, but ever since being forced to switch to the new and improved app I have had nothing but trouble. It will not hold my log-in info or Face ID forcing me to manually sign in every time, it did not give me my carry over points from last year shorting me over 2,000 points, it does not give me the correct number of picks in Vitality Squares making it impossible to even have a chance at gift certificates, it will not even allow my wife to do anything with the program let alone not allowing us to have joint accounts, there are more difficulties but at this point I don’t even care. I have emailed 3-4 times and got assurance that they were taking care of the problems, but so far there has been no help and they didn’t even reply to the last 2-3 complaints. This saves my company a lot of money on insurance so I will struggle through with it for the bare minimum, however, will forgo my own monetary rewards as well as the enjoyment and health benefits I got from using the old app just so I do not have the stress and aggravation of using this new app. Bring back the OLD program and app this one has nothing that is better than the old one! Thanks for ruining a great thing Vitality!

Worst app ever

After I setup my login info it took hours for me to login because they could t find my information. Now that I can login I get a screen that says that they have a new app. Click to go to the App Store and it takes me to this exact same app! I can’t get any further than this. There’s no option to skip. I hate this app and my employer is using this as part of a program that can help me earn some extra money towards my paycheck. Guess I won’t be earning that extra money because this app doesn’t work at all. Waste of time! Don’t recommend! Hopefully someday I’ll be able to login and setup what I need.

Bad & Cheated & bRoKeN

Bad!
I’m exercising less, because there’s no reward for doing more. Much easier to earn points than the old company. But less points available. Now today this app won’t even load. Pretty (not) pink rotating circle after login. Only an insurance company could only have designed an app so bad. You have to search everywhere to find anything - that’s not very interesting anyway. Which is how they got me to have no interest in using it. Now I discover they ‘had a login issue’ No, I didn’t notice for - 1 month? Probably 2! So I wait and see if it will sync up, no of course not. So now of course, I have to figure out how I see if I can get the points. (Sound like any insurance company you know?)
So not worth it.
My company switched to this garbage (probably saving a lot of money), so that we can get so much less. (Previous solution would allow 30 points for 600 calories of effort - this a max of 15 points for 45 minutes of “high” heart rate.
Why?
Why bother?
Oh wait, those “don’t leave money on the table, don’t miss out on the rewards!”
Go ahead, use it, be cheated.
Oh did I say it was bad?

Sub Par Application

The app routine faults when you try to submit a gym workout, a self reported workout, or a physical activity such as Rec-league sports. Since the more points I have lowers health insurance costs, I want to submit these activities but the application just keeps faulting to a blank screen. Sometimes it fixes itself after 5 or so tries and other times it doesn’t.

Overall, if I wasn’t forced to use this for insurance purposes, there is no way I would use this app. Not really helpful at all.

Update: it’s now requiring proof of gym visit now. A gym visit it worth 10 points. You need 2,500 to get to silver status. You now need a receipt of visit or a photo of you at the gym to get the points through a review process. Just shows it’s not about getting people healthier but putting up barriers to whatever cost savings you can get.

Had since January 2024…NOT happy!

I have this through my work, so it really stinks that I can’t switch to another. I used to have Humana and Go365, and my employer switched to Aetna. I’ve been able to earn points and get some rewards, but it’s still giving me a hard time. For example (and this has happened A BUNCH OF TIMES!), this week I’ve earned 55 points on the physical activity daily target page. You can earn up to 15 points each day, and this is what shows on that page: M-15, T-15, W-5, Th-5, F-15, S-5, S-5. That adds up to 65. Yet, on the “active rewards weekly target” page, it has stayed at 40 as though it doesn’t want to give me the last five points so I can earn a wheel spin (I only need 45 for that). I have logged out and logged back in and gone to different places and back on the app to see if it’ll pop up, but no such luck. Seriously, don’t have a wheel spin if you’re not gonna give the points to earn it! I’m tired of it. It’s just so annoying! I really miss Humana and Go365!!

Response from developer

HI K milkdud, we apologize for any confusion regarding the weekly active reward targets. We would like to clarify that light workouts which are worth 5 points do not count towards your active rewards goal, only standard workouts (10 points) and advanced workouts (15 points) will count. For more information regarding the program, please feel free to email us at Mobile_App_Communication@vitalitygroup.com

Filled with issues

This is filled with issues. Rarely does it accurately count steps, or workouts accurately towards your goals. When it does it takes a while to upload points to your account, and I don’t believe it even does that accurately, but it’s so back dated it’s impossible to tell. You earn a few extra points upon meeting goals when you get a spin of the wheel but upon spinning a $5 rewarded it bugged out and booted me out of the app. Upon reopening the app I thankfully had another spin - which I spun $5 again (seems predetermined) so I picked a gift card. Upon trying to add said card to my Apple wallet the app then once again crashed and after checking my wallet and having nothing I tried AGAIN to open the app, only to be asked to sign back in (shouldn’t have to because I’ve prompted it 4-5x in the last few months to NOT challenge me on this device for 180 days!) once I was finally signed in there is no sign of my gift card anywhere and I lost my spin. Cool, thanks.

Hey @bwlasiuk, we are really sorry to hear about the issues that you are experiencing with the Vitality app. Please know you can activate automatic background synching by deleting and reinstalling the latest version of the Power of Vitality app. For it to work however, please go into your Profile > Settings > change your login in preferences to 'log in automatically'. This will also help resolve any issues you might be experiencing with the Multi-factor authentication system. Please know we will require further investigation to retrieve any lost spins or gift cards. To start this process, kindly email us at Mobile_App_Communication@vitalitygroup.com.

So many issues (but login IS fixed)

UPDATE: the devs DID get the login working for me, and so that is fixed. I think this is still generally a bad service that doesn’t work very well and has numerous structural flaws, but those are more about Vitality than the app, I think. So I *will* give credit to the devs for addressing this issue for me!

ORIGINAL REVIEW: Constant logins and verifications (even if you check all needed boxes), not logging challenges, graphical issues (doesn’t bother to mark days when you’ve checked in) - add to that all of the other garbage (my favorite is this “your steps only count if you do it in 5k increments, so 9k = 5k!,” but there are numerous other stupid decisions here) that just makes this a poor service compared to my employer’s previous program (Go365), and this is just constant frustration and irritation. But at least they’re making money off of a captive audience, and show no interest in fixing any issues!
