Want to love this
Don’t get me wrong, this game is incredibly cute! It has the potential to be fun. However, if the entire point of the game is to breed more Dots to stop them from going extinct, then having to pay for the nest each time and that’s a whopping $7 Canadian… NOPE! No thanks. I have my two Dots, and that’s because there is a free nest given for launch. However, unless Niantic gives us an option to grind or craft a nest I will not be playing anymore.
As cute as this game is, only being able to play fetch, feed, and play tricks gets old fast.
DO BETTER NIANTIC!

Pay to play, don’t waste your time
This game was so cute and it’s so well made but it is a poor attempt at a cash grab. They have made the game functionally impossible to play. This is like if you had to pay to catch Pokémon in Pokémon go. I am coming out of this game with a very negative opinion about Niantic
Very fun so far
So far I’m impressed! I first thought, yeah ok, another digital pet game. But Niantic usually puts out decent games. So I gave it a go. For a digital pet game, it’s really fun. You can feed, train and grow your pet. It even interacts with the real environment! That’s impressive. You can also let your Peridot wear accessories lol. Is it better than Tamagotchi? Not really. Tamagotchi is still fun in its own way. It’s more traditional, as in everything is just on screen. Where Peridot is mostly AR reliant and relies on real surroundings. Think of comparing Super Mario to Sonic the Hedgehog. To each their own.
UPDATE: I knocked it a star because this game is battery hog! I don’t make a lot of time playing this game but by the end of the day my battery meter is in the red. I have a 14 Pro Max and I get lots of battery life, but ever since I started playing this game, my phone is really low by the end of the day. Please fix this, Niantic.

Gets boring fast
On day 1 after downloading I had an absolute blast. Adorable creature that was uniquely mine. What a great hook to get me interested.
Within 36 hours my baby was now an adult with nothing left to do except breed once and be put on a shelf.
Bottom line is that there is literally no game here. Niantic has spent a huge amount of effort to design what amounts to a 2 day distraction. It’s absolutely stunning to me that they released this “game” without actually adding any gaming elements.

Free To Download, Pay To Play
This game looks cute and exciting, with a trio of options for your first Dot so you can somewhat influence what your first buddy will look like. The sheer number of color and trait options are incredible! At this point in time, however, you're better off picking a different game to play.
You get one free nest at the beginning, and once your first Dot grows up, you can match with another to get a baby! And then that's it. If you want to breed anything else, it's $5/nest. Right now there's no mechanic to use free in-game currency to buy the exclusive item you need to progress. If your first Dot ends up looking a little weird and not to your tastes? Too bad. You've got one shot at cultivating a more ideal pet for yourself and that's it, unless you start forking out a whole lotta cash.
There's a lot of potential in this game. Unfortunately, it is unplayable without spending a ton of money on it. I sincerely hope that changes in the near future, but for now, you're better off saving your time, money, and battery life for something else.

Nest
A expensive real money item for each breeding? No way.
So Cute, but little bugs that needs to be fixed.
Peridot is a great game. Dots are so cute and I can’t stop smiling when I see one. When I wake up each morning, I check on my “Rox” and see what he needs. But, because it just had its release, there is still some problems.
First of all, the Dots can go through walls. Sometime when I wake up in the morning, Rox is in the walls or in the floor. When I throw a ball, it goes through the wall, and so does my Dot. If this can be fixed, that would be great.
The second thing I would fix would be to give it battery saving features. My phone dies way quicker with this app. Without the app, I usually have about 60% on my phone; and with the app, I have about 5% on my phone. If this can be fixed, that would be great as well.
The final thing is just a suggestion. I had this idea that you can make your Dots race other player’s. The reward is great if you get top 3, okay if you get top 15, and mediocre at top 30. Also, you can train your Dots to race. This is just a suggestion, but I think it would be a great addition.
Overall, this app is amazing and I think that it will succeed. I love Rox a lot. I go outside with him and play fetch. I hope Niantic fixes the things I said and adds the racing mechanic.

Has potential, seriously lacking currently
This game has potential to be amazing! I’m already basically addicted to it, however there’s a serious problem with how the keeper leveling works and breeding. You can only gain so much keeper experience in a day, which isn’t HORRIBLE other then the fact that after your Dot is an adult, you can’t do anything with it unless you want to pay to breed it. It’s like 7 dollars Canadian for EACH time you want to breed besides the first one. If they make it more like the beta where you can collect nest parts it will be an amazing game, but right now it’s fun for like 4 days that’s it.

more things?
i’m not sure if you can do this or not but i think it should be more like Pokémon Go. i love the game but i feel like it would be cool to walk around your yard or something to find “Wild Dots” cause i can’t always travel places and search for other peoples Dots. But i do love the game i think it’s great but i just think it would be AWSOME if it was like Pokémon Go. the dots are cute and i love the designs and the random genetics they all have. but it would be cool to go out in your yard and just find wild ones even just for breeding or even just having wild ones you can just see from just being outside. like seeing birds outside you see them but you don’t go and take them. i just think it would be cool to see ones out in the wild without actually having to go and find real ones that have “owners”

Potential
The app drains the battery from your phone extremely quickly. You are able to watch your Dot grow, play fetch, teach them tricks and feed them food that they have found. Plenty of things to do, to encourage you to reload the app up again.
Downside, once you’ve bred your Dot with another adult Dot. You have to pay £5/€5 per 1 nest. This means to continue playing the game with breeding, you will need to keep paying the £5 per breed. This is the main objection of the game. You can still continue to play with your Dots without nesting and making a baby dot, but it gets quite boring without the excitement of getting a baby and seeing the different designs. It’s a shame the nests cost so high.
Also, please remove the communication option, I dislike that you have to message strangers.
