Great for tracking large family
This app makes it really simple to track daily, weekly, and monthly additions and subtractions from the kids’ allowance. You can add recurring expenses or set up a recurring allowance amount. You can set up goals for saving. I currently have eight children in the app.jalabru
Great for Teaching Kids about the finite Nature of Money
A simple app that gives us everything we need. Since using the app, our kids have been far more thoughtful in how they approach their spending. Seeing what they have accumulated makes it real it seems. As opposed to paper and coins in a jar. So easy for us to use money as small incentives as well.
The kids even deposit their birthday cash into BOMAD - because they like to see their money consolidated.
A helpful addition would be the option to offer interest to kids. I would love if they could have a spending account and a savings account that had some rules around interest.
Thanks for the great free app. Don’t get value like this very often.

Beautiful Elegant Allowance Tracker
I have tried about ten allowance tracking apps, and I gave up on all of them and eventually tracked in a spreadsheet. I also refuse to pay a monthly fee to use an app—I’m trying to teach my children responsible money practices here, and forgetting about yet another monthly subscription is irresponsible imo (Bomad is free but I would gladly pay a one-time payment).
All this to say Bomad is everything: beautiful design, simple to use, accommodates reoccurring payments and debits, does not complicate and gamify children’s chores and allowances. Bomad is great if you want a simple allowance and spend tracker for your children. It’s easy and quick to add or revise entries, allows for money to be split into different goals (ex. Allowance, Charity, Gifts), and has a reoccurring setting for repeat expenses like weekly allowance or monthly subscriptions. It also helps that the app works well on both iPhone and iPad. I've been searching for an app to manage allowances and keep track of pocket money with my kids.
It's great to have the option to get both parents involved, and it's a fantastic way for kids to learn about money through practical experience.
The kids love it. There's no more guessing how much of the allowance is left, and it encourages them to set savings goals - a fantastic feature.
Parents can also set a recurring payment schedule for an allowance which is super convenient.
