No access with mobile data

Can only access the app with WiFi. Whenever I go to a store I get a message saying I am offline, even though I have mobile data enabled. I get a pop up screen to collect points but I can’t redeem my rewards which makes it all pretty pointless.

Useless

The app Doesn’t record most of the reward stamps. When the stamps don’t appear, the Gails staff say the stamps will appear later. But they in fact never appear. So don’t expect to ever earn a free coffee or pastry!

Worst loyalty app I’ve ever experienced

I cannot stress how bad this app is. Terribly slow to open, forget about it if you’re not on a wifi connection, half the time you end up with an all-white screen, and when you’re lucky enough that it actually opens, you end up holding up the queue in the Gails shop due to the abhorrently slow speed of bringing up the QR codes to scan. Heaven forbid you need to also scan your freebie after a complete card - you’ll be there until 2026. Please sort it out Gails or bring back the paper based cards. Sometimes things work better without the tech, it seems. It’s making me disloyal before loyal at this point.

101 in how to annoy your customers

This app was already infuriating in that a) you have to open an account and give your email, presumably so they can sell your info on b) you can only use it BEFORE you pay - if you forget, no credits! Having not used it for a month or so I now find the app has forgotten my account and my credits have disappeared. I have personally vowed to try to never go to Gail’s again. This is a lesson in how to infuriate your regular customers. Just make a simple credit collection app which works with no signing in or account creation, please!

Autofill not enabled for sign up

I’ve just downloaded this so can’t comment on usability yet, but it’s always irritating to fill in a form where autocomplete hasn’t been set up for each field. It’s almost universal now so it really stands out when the developers haven’t bothered with it.

Appalling

Unbelievably slow and perpetually crashes/doesn’t work without wifi. The Gail’s customer experience now seems to consist of standing in a long queue while frustrated customers and even more frustrated staff try to get the barcode to show and then scan. Pretty sure the cashier today had been driven to the point of lying and telling customers that it had scanned when it hadn’t, and frankly I don’t blame her.

Actually quite impressive to design a rewards app that dramatically slows till time and actively puts me off coming in. Can’t imagine it’s improving sales...

Shambles! Incompetent developers

The amount of times I should have received a reward but got nothing after 9 purchases via app (or even QR) is incomprehensible. Even your own staff says app is worthless and they cant do anything to help, many of your customers complain and you do zero effort to fix it. Absolutely incompetent bonus scheme and an app, do not recommend to anyone.

And fire your product manager - 6 clicks to buy a coffee is a shame and a disgrace for industry.

Terrible

A great idea in theory but the execution is awful. Stamps don’t work, or disappear. I’ve had to delete and re-sign up, losing everything. Love Gail’s bakery but if they were going to have an app, I’d hope it actually worked.

Unfair token system

Really unfair that the total of your order only gets scanned as one token. If I purchased 2 coffees and a pastry separately my app would get scanned 3 times. Not great for a “loyalty” programme.
