Gift card

Always a big fan of Gail’s but the app falls short. No wallet function is a basic. I was also given a gift card which again is not integrated into the app and does not work in the wallet. From such great customer service I would have expected a seem less app integration. Not the greatest unfortunately

Ok, but they warn rewards will expire

Unlike the paper cards (which are no longer accepted anyway) they have released a vague warning that rewards will expire after some unknown time.

Thank you for the review. Each reward has the 'Valid until' date displayed on the Rewards page so you should be able to keep track.

App not usable with no internet connection

I am not sure I understand why each time I would like to scan my QR-code, the app should connect to server. For this reason, if the connection is poor or I don’t have connection at all (which happens quite often in my area with my internet provider), I basically can’t the app: I am stuck at a blank screen without even a loading indicator.
Why QR-code can’t be cached?
It feels that for such a simplistic functionality the app is too slow (even if there is internet).

Also, the app is very demanding in terms of privacy policies (check them out in description); I probably do understand why location tracking is needed, however, as I a customer I feel humiliated about this as the developer should have assumed that customers would be trying to cheat them (that’s my interpretation of course; however, other similar apps don’t use my location unless I use delivery)

Pretty rubbish

Reward stamps not showing after two visits/scans at different stores. Emailed Gail’s to be told ‘they are definitely there’ - nope, still not showing. Wanted to scan again today at a different store but app wouldn’t open at all. Pretty poor overall, and one stamp per transaction rather than per drink is rather stingy too given other stores’ loyalty offerings.

Stamps don’t record

I usually always buy two coffees and loaf every time I go in (more on weekends) but seem to get at most one or two stamps. Also, if you are one away from a full card and buy lots of things, then you only receive one stamp! I spend a fortune in Gail’s but have plenty of other quality options on the high street (who still have stamp loyalty cards!) so if you value my custom please sort this out asap!

Thank you for your feedback. You should be getting a stamp every time you visit, or 2 stamps if you spend more than £20. Please get in touch if you don’t think this has been the case so we can make it right for you.

Need to add pass to wallet

I don’t always have my phone with me and sometimes I need my passes in my wallet so I can get them on my watch. This basic feature seems to be missing at the moment. Also, don’t understand why the app is so huge in terms of downloads for such a small set of functionality. Have you turned on the app thinning capabilities?

Disappointing

On the plus side seems easy to use but poor functionality and doesn’t feel native - they’ve basically loaded a website into an app. And it’s strange how they respond to every review in the same way asking customers to get in touch through their contact page. You should fix your app issues yourself and it’s not the customer’s job imo.

No signal = no joy

Hope you’re planning on visiting a Gail’s which has mobile reception… Of not, the app plain doesn’t work.

To add insult to injury, trying to join a Gail’s Wi-Fi network takes a good while as your have to submit all your personal details. So enjoy trying to get that done with a queue of people behind you at the till.

Quite simply the loyalty points portion of the app should work without mobile signal please developers.

Great

Works great, free coffee on sign up and luckily my birthday was a few days after I downloaded so got a free gift for that. Can’t wait to use on my next visit and start filling up my card 😊

Disappointing

I love Gail’s but why oh why did you build such an average app when there are such good apps out there. First issue - could not order my coffee, took me the 3 minutes it would take me to walk to my local Gail’s to work out that I had to select milk type to order my coffee - there was literally no direction I could see. Second issue - the team in store had no idea what to do. They thought I was a Deliveroo driver and sent me to the kitchen to pick up my order. What. A. Waste. Of. Time. Very disappointed.
