Very disappointing

This app has clearly been designed with maximising profit without any consideration for customer experience. The rewards expire very quickly, so if you don’t redeem them within a couple of weeks they disappear and it becomes a completely pointless app. Also, they used to give you a stamp for every item you purchased, now they give you a stamp per order. So you can spend £50+ and buy 10 items, but you’ll only receive one stamp.

Thank you for your feedback. We now give a stamp for each transaction rather than just for coffee. This means we are able to thank more of our customers for their loyalty. We are sorry that you have had a reward expire before you were able to use it. Following customer feedback, the full stamp card reward is now available for 6 months . The birthday treat can be redeemed for a month and some of our seasonal rewards might be a little shorter.

Poor Design - Inaccessible

While I am a huge fan of Gail’s food and service, I cannot recommend this app because the verification function doesn’t work properly. It will not send me a text. I am here in London on holiday from the US, not sure if the app doesn’t like international customers or numbers. Hopefully they fix it soon.

Rewards and stamps keep on disappearing

It’s a mess. Stamps don’t get registered. Rewards disappeared. I had 3 last week. This week I have 2. Gail’s even sent 5 stamps as an apology for the poor performance of the app, but they never appeared!! What a mess. Tried a day after this review to claim a reward. The shop couldn’t honour it - they scanned the reward and told me it was empty and asked to scan it again. But of course, the reward had disappeared. They wanted to scan a second reward. I refused and just walked out. This is a complete disaster.

Thank you for the fast and efficient support in getting my verification and correct email fixed and linked to my account! The app works really well for me now.

Possibly the worst app I’ve come across

The app is genuinely awful. If I didn’t love Gail’s bread as much as I do, I’d have given up ages ago. How can other (more complex) loyalty apps work so well, while this one is so bad? Bring back the paper loyalty cards, at least it was my fault when I lost my card. Now, thanks to this app, I’m locked out of my account, it won’t recognise my email address (and yet I still receive account emails) and so I can’t collect or use my stamps. Absolutely useless!

Terrible app that doesn’t work

When you try to get your account verified on the app it’s says it will send a code to your mobile but it never does. I’ve been trying for two weeks with no luck. They’ve sent email apologizing but it still isn’t fixed.

Unusable- Verification failure

Several days after making account, you are logged out and when trying to log back in they insist on sending a verification code via text that never arrives. Have tried changing password, reinstalling the app, and emailing Gails about the problem - no response. App essentially unusable and purchases not counting towards rewards.

Primitive app

You seem to have made a massive fuss recently about updating your app so it’s more secure. I’ve had three emails and several app notifications. There seems to be no notification centre in the app, so when I clicked on your app notifications and they disappeared, and I hadn’t read them properly, there’s now apparently no way of recovering them. I think I have verified my account but feel you have gone about this process in a haphazard and confusing way. I hope there won’t be any further unnecessary notifications and I do appreciate the extra stamps towards a free coffee.

Very Disappointed in the Gail’s App

Since Gail’s switched to having customers collect rewards on paper cards to electronically on their Gail’s app, the app has been very unreliable. I am a long standing customer and I have not been receiving all of the rewards for my Gail’s purchases, as the scanner often does not work and even when my app is scanned, the reward points are not reliably always added to my account. I am disappointed in the poor level of rewards and customer service. I regret moving over from paper stamped cards which were redeemed easily with no issues.

Need to review your scheme

Last week my ninth point update failed despite your email telling me it had updated. Also object very strongly to the lack of differentiation between two coffees which I often buy together. The 30 min delay is very unfair. We also often buy £10 of bread with our coffee and no points for this spend. Overall this product needs a rework to realign with your customers needs.
