You can do anything without paying for Premium — all our basic features are free. There's no catch for users who don't subscribe — you can still swipe, crush, and chat with anyone, as long as they're interested too. Our premium features just boost your experience, like letting you see who liked you or sending superlikes. Whether you buy these or not, the main experience always stays the same, there's no hidden layer. Regarding other users nearby: we know these numbers can vary depending on where you are, but our community is growing fast — thousands of new people join every day. We're spreading out as quickly as we can, and soon we'll be RAWcking your area too.

Hi there, We're a new app that's mostly up and running in the US and UK right now. We're focusing on getting more users in these countries. In Canada, we only have organic traffic so far — so it's probably not much yet. We're super excited to spread our wings to other parts of the world, but it'll take a bit of time. Don't give up hope though – we're growing fast and aiming to reach more areas soon. That's all we can share for now, but keep an eye out for updates.
Needs some big changes
My first issue is I cannot set my distance preference. I don’t want to try and date someone on the other side of the country. Like I’m in Washington state and I was getting guys from Texas, New York, Georgia?? Like what’s the point.
Second, I personally don’t like people outside of my preference seeing my profile. The amount of men I’ve seen more than twice my age swiping right on me when their raw photo is them on the toilet is appalling. It’s disgusting.
Besides those two things I really love the app! I love the layout, the questions, the fact it’s like BeReal but for dating sounded perfect and how you can’t swipe without posting a picture is great. I’d love for distance to be a filter just like the age, and maybe an option to have my profile hidden except to the people in my preferences because I’m sure some other people like it laid out like this. Thank you!

Thank you for your honest feedback. We glad to hear you love the app — you just made our day extra RAWsome. Good news: manual distance filters are coming. Hang tight, they'll be here before you know it. But for now, it works like this: We start by connecting you with nearby users and then gradually expand the radius as the number of users decreases. When new users appear close by, we reduce the radius again. Same deal for age preferences. This keeps your feed full of new people to meet, so you're never left high and dry. About hiding your profile: fabolous idea. We're slapping that on our list of RAWsome user suggestions right away. Can't wait to see you back on RAW soon.

Manual distance filter is in our plans, but for now, it works a bit differently. Our location settings are both automatic and dynamic. We start by connecting you with nearby users and then gradually expand the radius as the number of users decreases. When new users appear close by, we reduce the radius again. Also, we prioritize showing people who have liked you. So, if someone far away likes you, you'll see them before someone nearby who hasn't liked you yet. This way, you'll always have fresh faces to meet, ensuring you never feel lonely.

Cool idea, but flawed
Notably, the users I see are from all over the country, which isn’t ideal. I’m not looking to match with someone from across the country. I don’t want a penpal, I’m here to meet someone for real. There should really be a distance limit, and there isn’t one, as far as I can tell.
Also, I see a message pop up sometimes saying “This user is a top user, buy premium to match with her” This is not a good tactic to get people to buy premium.
From how I assume it works - locking the ability to like a particular user behind a paywall isn’t great design, and I don’t think many people are going to pay for an expensive app subscription just to talk to someone who already has a bunch of other people lining up to talk to them as well.
Maybe I’ll sign up again in the future if it grows and changes these issues, but right now, these two problems keep me from even trying it further. Best of luck.

Now, about that location thing: let's break it down for you. We start by showing you nearby folks first. Not many around? No worries, we'll cast a wider net. And when new people pop up in your area, they'll show up on your radar too. Here's a cool twist: people who've already given you a thumbs up jump to the front of the line. So you might spot someone from far away who's into you before seeing a neighbor who hasn't noticed you yet. This way, you'll always have fresh faces to check out, even if they're not right next door. After all, who says love can't bloom long-distance? As for those top users: they're pretty rare birds, and you won't bump into them often. You can like 99% of RAW users totally free. We just added that little hint to help you shine brighter and make sure your crush notices your interest. It's like a little sparkle to catch their eye.
Why am I seeing people who aren’t local?
Edit: I can’t see the developer’s response, now, that stated something about how it works, but I remember it saying something about showing locals first and then broadening out further away. That’s not the behavior of the app at all. I get profiles from CA which is much further away than AZ or NM, but then I’ll get a profile from AZ or NM. Then I’ll see a profile from NY and then it shows me a profile from WI. I’m in TX. There is no rhyme or reason to the geographic location of the profiles I am shown and occasionally I’ll see profiles from my state and on rare occasion, my city. This app is garbage.

Firstly, it's completely automatic—this is to prevent scammers from misrepresenting their location, and it also makes your life easier. Then, we start by showing you all the folks in your close area. When the number of nearby people starts to decrease, we expand the search radius just a bit. But here’s the cool part: if new people sign up and they're close to you, we bring the radius back in again. Also, we prioritize showing people who have liked you first—meaning, if someone far away likes you, you'll see them before someone nearby who hasn't liked you yet. This way, you'll never be short of new faces, so loneliness is off the table. We know the density of users may vary depending on the area, but the good news is, our community is exploding right now—thousands of new faces every day.
