I signed up for a three day free trial and found the app well designed but unfortunately didn’t really help me meet anyone while solo traveling. Furthermore they lock you into an annual subscription from the start with no refund policy, which seems a bit predatory given most will only use the app a couple months out of the year. It’s got potential but feel like early days and they need to allow for month to month subscriptions.
There seems to be an issue on here with men sending messages to women under the guise of “trying to get to know them” and once they’re rejected they send very nasty hateful messages. This isn’t a dating app, it’s to find people to travel with and activities to do. I don’t like that I’ve had this app not even a week and already dealt with multiple men being weird and then hateful towards me. This is something that needs to be monitored better for me to fully enjoy it.

I tried to add a trip to Big Bend National Park but the app doesn’t seem to recognize the park or even the nearby town as a destination. The best I could do is add El Paso as the destination which still doesn’t make sense given its 4 hours away from Big Bend. Additionally, there’s no way to search for trips in a specific date range. This is really important for people who aren’t picky about where they are going but have limited time availability. The idea of the app is great but there needs to be significant upgrades.

Currently, plans can only be created for cities, which is why Big Bend National Park isn't recognized as a destination. However, you can add Terlingua, which is just 30 minutes away from Big Bend, as your destination. Additionally, you can specify Big Bend by including it in the title or description of your plan.

I’ve made 2 groups targeted towards finding girl travel partners and all who were joining were guys cause they can’t read or leave girls alone anywhere we go. I wanted to remove them from my groups but guess what? I can’t remove people from my group, there is no feature for that. The most basic feature is missing. You also don’t get a notification or can easily find people that DM you. That location is hidden in a small spot. I found old DM requests weeks later. I also can’t leave a review that button on the app won’t work at all. And the report button on the app also only takes you to your phone settings, that’s it. What a waste of my money. I had nothing to gain from this app.

Soon you will be able to remove people from plans, add preferences such as age and gender & the crashing will be gone.
As for the report button, it works well and we have a good moderation system. I'm afraid you might have clicked something different thinking it was report.
We hope with this update your concerns will be addressed and we thank you for downloading TripBFF 🌍📱So far so good however I’m disappointed that there’s no way to search for trips within a specific date range regardless of destination. At the moment the only thing I’ve seen has been to search for a specific location within a set of dates, but for a student like myself and several others our limitations aren’t necessarily destination but rather time. With that in mind, I would love a feature like that because it would help me to think of places that I otherwise wouldn’t have thought to search for.
In other words, have a search feature where there is no specified destination, and the search results show trips various locations that are within a specific date range, could be anywhere.

I made a group for solo travelers in Tokyo, my husband joined the group and sent me a message, we spent the whole week in Tokyo together and the rest is history. And while we were on the initial trip everyone kept asking us how we met (cause even though we had just met, it was love at first sight as corny as that sounds lol) and we told everyone it was through TripBFF. This of course inspired others to download the app, but we must have told over 100 people. That being said, I don’t think anyone could be a bigger TripBFF advocate than I am. I think it has a lot of potential, but I can definitely see this potentially being a little sketchy/dangerous. There needs to be a definite way to screen every user for authentication before use. Like, passport verification, or something.
Other than that, the app crashes A LOT. If you try loading the “nearby travelers” tab, the app freaks out and crashes. Idk why, but it’s extremely annoying.

I assume this app is full of bots because the retention rate for people is next to none. Everyone makes a group chat and says where they’re going to go and what time but no one text among each other maybe once in a blue moon but it’s so uncoordinated they can only make sense that the developers have better things to do since the app hasn’t been updated in a month, it is very bad and it’s going to be very rare for you to find anyone to travel with since no one stays on the app longer than a day
