Amazing game, difficult at start

If I could give it a 4.5/5 I would, but I can’t. Overall, great game, worth the price tag. If you play on any difficulty other then easy the beginning portion is vary hard. Another issue is only having 1 save slot, if you want to make a new save you have to delete your other one. Its also a bit repetitive. The pros of the game is: it’s one of the best in its category, the best movie studio game I’ve found. It’s worth the price, get it, (the free version locks the difficulty slider ☹️)

Scratches an itch, but there’s a lot of improvements that can be made.

The game in concept is fun, but there’s a few things I’d add or change:

• I should be able to start working on the next film or show once I release the previous. So as one is making money I’d already be in production on another.

• sequels should be allowed to swap genres and settings. Think Alien to Aliens or Terminator to Terminator 2. They swap from horror genres to action films for the sequels.

• there should be better records of actors and crew. Like if an actor does poorly or is awful to work with they should have a stat that tracks that.

• awards should boost film performances in theaters.

• more in depth gameplay in making the films. Like if I got to make tag lines for the marketing like Alien’s classic “in space no one can hear you scream”.

Best Movie Maker game on the app store

I love this game. If you want a movie maker simulator, this is the game you should get. But it could use some more features. Like a sandbox mode where you automatically have everything researched so you can make whatever type of movie that you want.

Simple and boring

I like the UI and graphics but the gameplay loop is lame; tap tap sort tap from list tap tap make number go higher a lil. That’s all, there’s nothing to work towards, only boring money sinks. The effectiveness of any player decision is completely left up to a guess even after the experiment is over. TLDR list pickin’ gameplay loop is not fun and there is no reason to play “100 in game years” for what amounts to incremental revenue gains. Again, UI, UX are phenomenal. Big kudos to animated revenue chart, that piece is the best part of the game. Needs more data though to make all the lame poking snd prodding at variables to be worth interactive time.

Would like to see awards reworked

For a paid game I’d love to see the awards get reworked. One of my favorite things about this game is seeing your knowledge/work being paid off. The current awards/ceremony is very, very lack luster. The Oscars was introduced but it’s still called “Movie Awards” or something.. the name didn’t really stick. It’s all my movies being nominated but that doesn’t seem realistic. I don’t want to be handed accolades, I’d like to earn them. Let me see my competitors and see them win over over. I’d love to see if my screenwriters, directors and actors incurring for being in my movies. I would also like a trophy room to visit my accolades. There’s a history museum but it doesn’t even show what I’ve won? Or what movie won? No trophies or anything. The game is pretty fun, but the immersion for me is ruined when the awards is just a quick, tap through one off thing that doesn’t feel special at all and then right back into making movies. Explain to me how in my first year a movie I made that didn’t even earn the money back on was nominated and won? Feels like a handout.

Pretty good!

I’m really enjoying this game, there are a few things that keep it from being 5 stars. 1. I keep getting bad reviews because of my script, it will say things like “humor and drama don’t mix” when my movie doesn’t have humor. 2. More info on what the stats mean would be cool.

Absolute must-buy for tycoon game fans

If you love Kairosoft or Game Dev Tycoon, this is a worthy addition to your game collection.
The portraits and posters are fantastic little touches that really make it special.

Question for developer:
Is there somewhere that explains what all those beautiful stats actually do?
The ? at upper left just gives a basic overview of the game.

Music Business Version

I Love This Game Can You Please Do A Music Version Of This Game Same Concept And Everything Just Music

A concern/question.

I was wondering why there was a free version of this game and this one the paid version because I got the paid one and it is the exact same thing as the free to play one. Idk if you will add something to the paid one to make it different from the free one. The free to play one does seem better to play at the moment.?

Response from developer

Thanks for your review and your question. The free version was created to allow more people to discover the game before buying the paid version. For now, the main difference between the two versions is the choice of difficulty level, only possible in the paid version. The free version has a higher, dynamic difficulty level (which increases with the size of the films). If a player of the free version wishes to make the game easier, he or she can either buy in-app purchases, or purchase the paid version. The game is still very young, but the differences between the two versions will become more pronounced, as updates will of course focus on the paid version. Best regards, Julien
