Excellent tool that saves me hours every week
Fireflies has been a game changer for me - no more reading through pages of scrappy notes to figure out what promises I made to clients. A clear list of actions, access to questions and answers AND the simplicity of sharing the whole thing with clients because they were at the meeting too so nothing is open to interpretation.
This is the best investment by far for the amount of time it saves and the effect on my efficiency and effectiveness. Best of all my client LOVE LOVE LOVE it too.

Very glitchy and cumbersome
The AI itself is an interesting and potentially useful tool, but the whole concept is completely ruined because it forces you to login with a federated Microsoft or Google ID, and then invites itself to join every meeting on your Microsoft or Google calendar.
This has the side effect of jumbling all your personal meetings and work meetings into one account where everything is saved and accessible by your coworkers. (Maybe I don’t want my coworkers to access a recording of me chatting g with my kids, you know?)
Once you discover this problem and try to migrate the account to a separate ID, it requires a manual human assisted migration process which raises a whole additional host of problems and errors.
Now I have one random jumble of personal and business recordings on one account and another whole random jumble of other personal and business meetings on another account.
I stupidly paid for a full year of the tool in advance because I was dazzled by the AI features the first few times I tried it. Don’t make that mistake, sample this clunky service for a few months at the monthly rate first before you commit. Better yet, look elsewhere for your meeting AI tool. (Microsoft teams is slowly adding copilot features that do everything this tool does anyway.)

Didn’t work
Tried to use it, but it just didn’t work
Not very helpful for the work I do and impossible to cancel
I just didn’t find it that helpful and ended up getting charged for an entire year with monthly charges for an extra feature I didn’t sign up for.
I had to get into a full on debate with Support to cancel. didn’t leave a great taste in my mouth.

Response from developer
Thank you for your feedback, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We're sorry to hear about the billing issue and the trouble with canceling. We’ll work to improve our process and provide clearer communication. If you need further assistance, feel free to reach out to support@fireflies.ai.
Glitchy but very useful
Please fix the bugs where it doesn’t let you upload or download after a little bit
Privacy Issues
This cannot be used at all without granting access to your calendar which is a major privacy concern.
I decided to try it and granted it access to my junk email account’s calendar. The performance was middling at best and it failed to process my very short (15 minutes) conversation. I will say that eventually the job did go through and I viewed it via a link to my email.
It’s certainly not worth granting access to my main calendar when there are other apps that are more capable and less insistent on being creepy. The only way I would use this again is if I could do so without granting calendar access.

Lovely tool for personal archivists
Wonderful tool for transcribing audio, and making the spoken word searchable. I’m a longtime paid web user and happy an app was launched.
While optimized for videoconference calls, I use this for transcribing Voice Memos I record of lectures, live panels, and Q&As. I’ve built up a searchable, shareable, exportable database of thoughts and things I’ve heard.
As others have pointed out: don’t put too much trust in the in-app recorder. Instead best to import audio files via share sheets from Voice Memos or other recorders, which it handles well.
I wish they would chill on the bloated interfaces, and focus on rock-solid speed, search, and readability. We are talking about text here: the oldest content on the web.
And focus the AI elsewhere please. I don’t need to chat with a transcript of my chat, but I would love if Mr. Fred could ascertain the names of of everyone in audio uploads.

Great Note taking assistant!
Have been using for a couple of weeks and required an initial learning curve to tweak settings to ensure Fred (ai assistant) only showed up at the meetings I want him to. It is a great tool for producing minutes of our team meetings; just a quick proof read and adjustment and they were ready to share. Had an issue with transcription of one meeting that failed and had to use extra credits to get the summary and notes prepared but that was the only time it didn’t perform as expected. I’m a fan!!
