Not impressed!

Having previously used the Active Northumberland App on many occasions, without issue, this one is not as user friendly. Not as informative and it has an issue in that I was unable to make bookings on the app on my phone as kept getting error messages about pop ups, despite having adjusted this in my phone settings. Had to go on the website on a different device in the end, as could not get past the error messages after 2 days of trying. If people are expected to rely on this they should make sure it is fit for purpose first.

JOINING ONLINE IS A SHAMBLES

I star because I couldn’t give zero stars - which is all the online site is worth.
Membership options for Adult 3month up-front option gives the price for a concessions rate (but hides the fact that it is a concession rate). Senior rate options are not available to purchase online and neither are Concession rates (unless of course you try to book as an Adult and then find out the reduced rate is not actually honoured as your not eligible). Disgraceful! Morpeth had a newly built facility at a cost in excess of £26 million only a year ago, it was great until these jokers took over!!! Absolute Shambles!

Much better!

This is a much better app - love the option to add to calendar and see the classes that are available.

However! It’s adding me to notifications that I haven’t requested - when a class is full and you can request to be notified. Apparently I have but I don’t get the notifications?!

Anyway to stop/undo this? It’s like it’s set for certain classes every week.

Please add push notifications!

Having the app is brilliant. It’s a central point on your device to book classes, check session times etc.

However, it could really benefit from having push notifications for free class spaces (when ‘notify on’ is enabled) or a reminder for booked sessions to help avoid the fine.

Only having Email notifications doesn’t help as most people don’t receive email notifications immediately on their device and it’s very difficult to get booked onto a space when it becomes available.

In addition, booking junior gym sessions is very inefficient with the current system, which is to phone a centre directly. Some centres don’t answer the phone, especially in peak periods. It would be much easier for the customer to use the app to book these sessions for their 11-16 children.

Finally, the app also crashes every time a session is booked. Then you are left unsure of it is booked and have to wait for it to restart in order to look at booked sessions.

With regard to the junior booking, if you have an alternate email or an email address you are able to add to the juniors account, this will allow for them to book their junior gym sessions as long as they have completed a gym induction. ERROR 404-page not found

Tried to cancel a class today well before the 2 hour deadline using the previous version of the app. I wasn’t able to access it - Error 404 -page not found. Forced to download the new version of the app, even though the previous version worked absolutely fine for my needs. Tried to log in. Says my login credentials are invalid. No reason why they should be as I haven’t made any changes to my password. So I tried using the Forgotten password button. And guess what, I get a response “Error 404-page not found”. All the time this has taken has taken me over the time mean I will now get a fine. I am unable to viewing any bookings or make any bookings. And I use the gym daily at the moment. There was not even any communication about a cut off date when the old app would become inactive. This is all extremely frustrating! And has taken an hour already. Technology is supposed to make life easier!

Improved layout but can be improved

New app’s layout is a significant improvement on the old app’s. However it is still difficult to search for a particular class. The app allows a search within a particular day but not a search across a week. To find a class I would have to search one day at a time.

So slow

The new layout is better overall than the old but it is so much slower and time outs a lot. The amount of time spent on booking a class varies wildly, from instantly to 5 minutes. I wondered if it was my new mobile provider but it doesn’t happen with my other apps. The in-house checking in system doesn’t reliably speak to the turnstiles and so I constantly get slapped with unwarranted fines which prevent me using the app at all. My moaning about it to staff at Dover falls on deaf ears.

Gym induction with Kieran DC

I had my gym induction with Kieran today and he was really helpful listened to what I hope to achieve and showed me the equipment that would work well for me to achieve what I want. You felt that you could ask him anything about fitness and he seems knowledgeable but without being judgemental.

A little more speed and it will be perfect

Really like the user interface.

Time out issues have been sorted… still a little slow at bringing back activities but at least it doesn’t time out all the time.

Great communication from the tech support after reading my original review.

Love all the classes I go to but, please get blinds on the windows, when the sun shines through, it’s right in your eyes and you can’t concentrate properly. Would love to swim or do aqua but, your showers are awful, I want to take my costume off to shower ( I can’t because it’s communal)and I want to rinse my hair in cold water after washing it, ( can’t because there’s no taps)
