Good Alternative to Artifact

Thank you for making this app, please keep up the good work! One suggestion: the ability to change font size.

Response from developer

Hi there, Thank you for the very kind words and feedback. I shall take this onboard. Thanks, Shihab

Paid

Enjoyed the app a lot day one and on day two could not do anything without a subscription. This was misleading as the app store button does not mention in app purchases. I'm not willing to pay for curated news when we have Artifact, Flipboard, Reddit as places to easily grab that. Sorry! If this wasn't a paid app it would be a 4 or 5 star!

Hi there, Thank you for the thoughtful feedback. The App Store listing mentions IAP. I have now increased the free trial limit to allow viewing more smart summaries and articles. Thanks, Shihab

Great design, usability improving with frequent updates

When I first installed this app I was a fan of the UI/UX. It’s very clean. At first - I was experiencing several bugs and suboptimal performance. After the past few days, these issues are becoming non existent. The developer seems to ship updates 1-2 times daily and welcomes feedback/suggestions.

Hi there, Thank you for the incredibly kind words and feedback. This is great to hear. Thanks, Shihab

Great but some issues

I am on iPhone -

I really like this app however the toggles in each category seem to do nothing - my feed doesn’t change based on which publications I choose to select or not. Can this be fixed?

Additionally I can’t add any feeds - import does work however when trying to add additional URLs in the ‘paste X feed URL’ field, it does nothing. Can this also be fixed please?

If these two issues are fixed this will probably become my go to news app.

Response from developer

Hi there, Thank you for the kind and constructive feedback. These issues have now been resolved in the latest set of updates. Hope this helps! If the issues persist, please reach out with more details via the in-app email option (including details regarding which toggles aren't working and which URLs can't be pasted). Thanks, Shihab

Great app

Would be amazing if settings, lists etc synced across devices via iCloud. Bit of a pain setting up on each device

Response from developer

Hi there, Thank you for the kind and constructive feedback. This is planned for the near future! Thanks, Shihab

Promising start but not there yet

Crearly an MVP. Needs a fremium option instead of a very short trial. Usability is poor to impossible on on an iPad mini but normal on an iPad air or iPhone. Thumbs up for frequent updates to improve features and usability. Didn't really got a chance to test out the AI features.

Response from developer

Hi there, Thank you for kind and constructive feedback. I shall be taking these onboard and continue working on refinements and improvements to make this the best experience. Thanks, Shihab

Terrible at OPML Imports

If you turn off the other categories and just want your OPML to get the Bulletin treatment, it doesn’t display anything. Not worth paying for something that can’t do its most basic tasks.

Response from developer

Hi there, You can view the imported feeds in the imported section, or long-press the feeds to display Context Menu options to move them to other categories from the manage section within the app. Hope this helps! Thanks, Shihab

Great App best RSS reader

Wonderful app that works across all devices. Lets you import your own feeds via OPML. Just needs a way to make text larger for those of us with older eyes.

Response from developer

Hi there, Thank you for the very kind and constructive feedback! Will be taking this onboard. Thanks, Shihab

Poor UI on iPad

I continually do not understand why RSS apps don’t use the full iPad screen in portrait orientation for reading articles. It should at least be an option to hide the sidebar. This issue alone makes it a hard pass from me.

This app looks good at first, but after just a few minutes you realize how restrictive it is. It doesn’t allow you to hide categories and you can’t customize feeds beyond hiding them. It also doesn’t allow adding any feeds either as far as I can tell.

And a personal nitpick of mine: I much prefer opening articles in Safari Reader view by default. It's a better UX in my opinion and provides consistency across the OS. It should at least be offered as option as some other apps do.

Response from developer

Hi there, Thank you for the constructive feedback and suggestions. I will take these onboard and reimagine the portrait layout for iPad to make better use of space. You can hide categories via the manage section, and you can hide or remove feeds from there too via long-press Context Menus. You can also add feeds by pasting URLs into the manage section there, or from the Share Extension via Safari and across your device. There's also a settings option to open articles in Safari reader mode directly when tapping to view them. Hope this helps! Thanks, Shihab

Really great v1; tons of potential

Love that this is truly a universal app, even on tvOS. That being said, the tvOS version is pretty weak and close to non-functional.

Still worth four stars and went ahead and bought the life-long option; consider it an investment into future development. 😉

Response from developer

Hi there, Thank you for the very kind and constructive feedback. I will be improving the tvOS app with a lot of the excellent capabilities from the other platforms very soon! Thank you, Shihab
