  • So slow

An OK game but needs lots of fixes. The animation and confirmation to place an Exploding Kitten card when there is only one card left, or all of the cards are Exploding Kittens, is pointless. You have to confirm the position that you’re placing the card back even though there’s only one way for the cards to be played. Also sometimes the nope card stays in your hand when you play it - a huge advantage for you as a player but a huge disadvantage if you are the opponent. Lastly, you can win a one-on-one game and it actually decreases your point total.

Thanks for your input on the game's speed. We understand that the "Nope" card mechanic, although enjoyable, can sometimes cause delays. We've set the current pace to give players ample time to strategically use the "Nope" card. We are working on ways to speed up the gameplay while preserving this important feature.
  • Toxic Player base

Sounds stupid but i run into quite a few people who will sit there and not play. They’ll touch the screen so the inactivity timer doesn’t run out but that’s it. They’ll sit and wait for people to leave. Nothing else. Toxic players like that make it not fun. There needs to be something put in place to stop this. Play timer or something. Other than that it’s great.
  • Clearly waste of money over the OG EK

The original is excellent…the perfect family waiting for service or in line at Disneyland game
…while this one has more animation on the screen and works well on larger screens…I like how you can hold the card down and read it…is the turn timer gone? That is needed.
The lack of meows and individual sound effects love each card was a huge part of its charm…like “nope” or “I can see the future” are missing…
It feels a bit soulless…I advise keep or buy the original….this feels like it’s made by someone who never played the original and didn’t realize the genius.
  • Great but…

Game is really fun but have a few issues to make it fantastic.
More often than not when I shuffle, the next card is an exploding kitten
I have yet to play a Nope card when the other players try to steal from my hand. I wish there was a pause or button to quickly react so I can use them when I want
I wish there was a way when playing single player and I explode near the beginning, I don’t have to sit through the entire game while the ai plays each other
Hopefully with this being such a new game they will work out the bugs and can change this to 5 stars
  • Freezing Issues

Love the game and it’s an absolute blast to play and the new animations are fun. But there seems to be freezing issues from time to time.

It doesn’t happen often but every few games when an opposing player requests a card from the players hand the game freezes up and you cannot make the selection to give to the other player.

The only solution I’ve found is to quit the match and lose the points for quitting early.

Otherwise this is a total upgrade to the previous Exploding Kittens game.
  • Wanted to love it, but it’s unplayable

I appreciate how the game plays exactly like the physical card game. However, I am only playing this game when I am alone as I play the physical game with friends. The part that drives me crazy is how long the games take compared to the first Exploding Kittens. Please, and I beg you, add a fast mode option or an option to disable animations. I would easily buy all the DLC if this feature were to be added. Until then, this game is unplayable for me which hurts to say because I love Exploding Kittens.
  • So Glitchy

This is so buggy. If the game crashes and you have to quit, you get penalized. You should be able to leave the game after you lose. The Nope card gets stuck when you try to draw it and you miss the opportunity. Very frustrating. When someone asks for a favor and you can pick which card, I’ve only been able to give them my diffuse card. If I don’t have a diffuse card, I can’t give anything and I have to quit them game because I can’t make a move.

  • So much animation is wasting time

There should be a way to turn off the unnecessary animations. Players dont need to be told it’s their turn with a sliding character animation every single time. Waiting for the character’s hand to flip the card over is also a time-sucker. Waiting until after that animation to move a card makes players want to turn off the game. It should be a fast moving game like in real life. Animations prior and post game is enough. Hand-holding through each draw should be an option for new players, not forced upon all.
Wish I could get my money back. You shouldn’t have make an account to Bubble to track progress.
  • Super unstable and buggy

As an avid fan of the card game and the first version of this app. This game seriously should not be this resource heavy. And it should not be nearly this sluggish with networking. Attempting to play with someone in my own house we resulted in crash after crash. I hated the fact that one has to make a bubble account just to play online unlike the first version. I am overall very unimpressed with this poor excuse to pick fan’s pockets.
  • Keep your $5

I am a big fan of the original Exploding Kittens app and I really wanted this new app to be exciting. It isn’t.
Simply put, it is a more aggressive attempt at forcing in-game purchases. The game is essentially no different from the original app, except that ‘nope’ cards are now available. Otherwise, you begin with far less than what the original app provides. Yes, the app design is more flashy and complex, but the added 3D graphics cause the game to lag and honestly isn’t necessary on a smart phone or tablet.
Save your money, stick with the original app!
