Dim-witted

This is a poorly-executed app, written by people who clearly don’t use it. It is a vessel for upselling the platform’s already expensive service, and is less usable than its browser interface (mobile included). It has been “experiencing an error” upon opening it for several years now, which means constantly needing to login again for simple tasks like viewing reports.

Unethical company

It’s a shame as they have a good product. But blackmailing/ forcing existing customers to switch to their new merchant facility is completely unethical. Also their support for existing customers is limited to a voice message system. Good luck trying to cancel your subscription. Should be taken to the ACCC

Frustrating to set up without previous experience

Happy with the app so far, but the developers need to make small videos for different areas of set up, from start to finish.

A one hour webinar done a such a fast pace, just adds to the stress of setting up a business.

The lack of human contact makes it’s hard to solve problems quickly, typing to the chat person is challenging.

Works well, request for sales page

After a sale it goes back to the default sales page for a new sale, this is fine, but would like an option to choose the default category it goes to. It would save so much time if it went back to the last used category. If a default choice per POS device could be chosen, this would be awesome.

Wouldn’t recommend using

The system is adequate so long as you dont require any support as their support service is poor and non responsive. Pay a bit more and get a product that actually has some support.

Dissatisfied

Since changing from Kounts to Lightspeed this POS has gotten very average. Very slow opening the app, have to reload the app regularly and sometimes multiple times. Can’t say that I’m impressed

Basic and inadequate

The system is bare bones and makes it difficult to do anything other than the most basic of pos duties. Back office is awful and lacks features such as import and export, duplication, etc. requires a large amount of time to do simple things. They talk big, but in my limited experience this system is barely enough for a cafe and likely insufficient for anything more complex.

Frustrating and unworkable for our business

We’ve been with Lightspeed for over 10 years and have loved it until we were forced to change from the Onsite POS version to the Retail POS version (they archived the Onsite version). The Retail POS is truly terrible. We are a photographic art gallery that often takes custom order. At just about every step - from taking an order, to processing the order, to fulfilling the order - is confusing, unintuitive, often not achievable and clunky. (For example - something simple, like emailing the customer the order again, actually isn’t possible.) The Purchase Orders don’t link back to the order or show the customer name, payment and part-payments (deposits) are confusing to take and redeem, searching for an item is difficult.... I could go on and on.
Lightspeeds solution to my many concerns and frustrations was to recommend an add-on app at an extra cost of $100 per month (on top of the $120 we were paying each month). I don’t recommend this POS system at all. Do yourself a favor (if you’re a shop with anything other than basic transactions) and look elsewhere.
