  • Easy to use, not easy to change password

The app is great, and easy to use but the process for changing the password needs improvement. Any security conscious user will likely be using a password manager with long, unique passwords. In order to change passwords in that case, it is necessary to switch apps briefly to after you paste the old password, in order to copy the new password. However, the moment you switch apps and return back to OTP, the UI resets to the main screen and the password change process is lost. This requires users to painstakingly type the entire new password manually from some other source (laptop or written) in order to complete the process. This is a design that discourages users from rotating passwords (I had to after a security breach of my password manager)

  • Nearly 2024 Review

I’ve used this app for years, it is the best 2FA/Authenticator app I have ever used. Recently on another device I used Microsoft’s Authenticator and had to uninstall it to reset my device, when I logged back in my backup even though enabled prior did not restore my 2FA codes, I read on Microsoft forums when this happens it’s a just oops response from their support and use the recovery methods to restore accounts manually; how is this an acceptable approach to an app that has millions of five star reviews? It’s not. OTP was my next choice even though it’s on my main device, I used it for that and I’ll never look back. This is overall the best 2FA/authenticator app and even Microsoft can’t do it better.

  • Basique et sûr

Fait le travail. Il n'y a plus rien à dire.
  • Just short of five stars

Great OTP app. The only improvement there could be is if the author would update the Watch app to display the entries in alphabetical order like they do on the Phone app.

That is what’s unfortunately driving me into finding an alternative.

Once you have several entries it become really frustrating scrolling through the list on Apple Watch without knowing where the entry your looking for is going to be.

  • The Authenticator app I’ve been looking for

Simple, iOS UI, no bloat, and supports my spare phone that’s on iOS 12. However I hope the “Show all accounts” button on the legacy widget will be removed, since I can just tap the app icon to launch it. And also on the legacy widget, if you could make the OTPs themselves a bit larger and the digits be divided into 3’s. Thank you.

  • Better apps available

Rarely updated. Extremely basic. Even with paid version you get no response from the developer.

There are better 2fa apps that are free, and actively developed, to choose from. You can also pay for them which helps keep the developer(s) advancing the app.
  • Excellent 2 factor

I absolutely love the UI and great security. Got this because Steve Gibson recommend it and I’m glad I did
  • iCloud synchronisation not working

All of a sudden it would appear when I tried to delete entries from my phone for some strange reason, the two entries I deleted are put straight back in again. I have two devices an iPad and an iPhone no matter what I do with the iPhone it is automatically replaced by what is in the iPad. I have even deleted the iCloud database saved the iPhone locally, then synced it to the iCloud. But the iPad database overwrites the new one. No matter what I do I cannot get rid of the iCloud database although the app says it has over written it. I have also deleted everything on the iPad yet. It still finds this rogue database in iCloud and restores from it.

  • Solid OTP Application

Keep all my current OTP in this app. I’m happy to see compatibility updates for iOS 16. Shows the developer stands by his product.

There aren’t exactly too many customization options, nor will there ever be. It is a simple app with a simple purpose that the dev executes flawlessly. This means there’s not going to be many feature updates, but I am happy with my purchase (iOS and Mac) as long as the developer continues to keep the app working through operating system upgrades and other critical changes.

    Thank you!
