  • What happened to this app ??

UPDATE: February25,2024 I gave them three stars. This app USED to work great with Life 360 but suddenly since they say they’re charging for it, the two widgets I don’t anymore. I’ve tried everything. The only widget I care about is to arm my Blink system with Life 360. Help ! Update December 30,2023, this application still doesn’t work. Is there any help out there? Update January 12,2024, still nothing January 31,2024 still doesn’t work February 15,2024didn’t work February 25,2024 well half of the app just worked, the drive home shut off my cameras. Maybe I’m getting closer to getting this to work?? Wish me luck 🍀
Finally successfully managed to get this app to work, and it works great once again! I may have to purchase some more

    Developer Response

Happy to help, but we can better assist with this if you file a support ticket through our help center: https://help.ifttt.com/hc/en-us/requests/new Thanks!
  • Looks full featured but seems like there is little support

I purchased IFTTT because it stated it was compatible with smartlife.
I made the purchase, but found that of the 15 devices I have, not a single one is “compatible” with ifttt and none were detected. Had I known that nothing was going to work I would not have subscribed.
I tried to get support to understand if I was doing something wrong, but it seems there isnt anything other than AI powered KB articles which didn’t help.

  • Not as advertised

The app does not show the location of last caller. It’s definitely indicated that was Available however once I subscribed that particular application vanished . I thought maybe it was installed automatically however after receiving calls it was not I immediately deleted the app and won’t bother again . If by some miracle tnus app can provide such a service in the future then there will be heaps of other far more user friendly services available also . I’m deleting a suggest don’t install

  • Worthless app at this point- find an alternative

Do not bother if IFTTT. Instead of trying to add new functionality that adds value and is worth paying for, they are instead trying to monetize by taking away more and more functionality for free users. Last year they pretty suddenly dropped the number of free automations you could have running at the same time to just 2, wayyyy to low for any user, but we made due. Without ANY warning at all, they disabled webhooks.

I am done with IFTTT. It was an app that I once really liked and may have considered paying for. But a business model that tries to restrict users instead of developing new and worthwhile technologies is corrupt and not worth my dollar.
Do yourself a favor and find an alternative. Because if you don’t, you likely will find whatever automation you build will suddenly stop working, and when you check to find out why it’s because IFTTT wants you to pay $20 a month

  • Unethical, untrustworthy. Canceled.

Call me old-fashioned, but I believe in keeping promises. Both personally, and for my business. And that makes me think long and hard before I make a promise. Toward the end of 2020, IFTTT told me that I could set my subscription price, and that it would be honored forever. I set my monthly subscription at $1.99, which was their minimum. I was fine with that, given how infrequently I use the service now.

Fast-forward two today, when I canceled my account. Apparently IFTTT neglected to tell me and everybody else that “forever” really meant “until it becomes ‘increasingly difficult.’” I for one have no desire to be associated with anyone who makes a promise only to break it when it becomes inconvenient or “increasingly difficult” [their words].

IFTTT used to get something from me every month, more than paying for how much I used their service. Now they’ll get nothing. And I would recommend that everyone else give them nothing as well.

  • Nickels and dimes

The version from years ago was helpful, serving to connect apps or services that otherwise would not have worked together. Then, more and more services began to be hidden behind the paywall, and limits imposed on the free version. The compromise was that applets I already had would continue to work. I was unable to change anything about the applet, including any conditions, the names of the devices, etc. Any time one of them became disconnected for any reason, there was no way to reset it without it being behind the paywall. Slowly, each of my applets became disconnected, archived, deactivated, or otherwise just died on me. As it is now, I can’t have a single applet without paying. Unless we can do something to bring back even basic functionality for users who don’t want to pay ongoing subscription fees, the app as it is is useless for these people. Most frustrating part is that it was so good until everything was slowly eaten away.

  • Was great, then they got greedy

IFTTT was a very useful capability, but was never so useful that I couldn’t live without it. When it was free to use by the consumer, I loved it and it stayed like that for years. Then I expect some corporate suit in the company got the idea that they should monetize the heck out of it and get rich off the public. That’s when it all changed. Automation limits were added and then the most useful automations were made premium. The premium price was way too high and wasn’t commiserate with the value. I shut off all but one automation but now I’m giving up on that one. It’s time to shutdown my account. End of an era, but a poignant tale of corporate greed becoming a self-inflicted demise

  • Buggy

MyQ integration sometimes works, sometimes not. For example, today my garage door did not close after 5 minutes like it is supposed to. Another time MyQ stopped working completely for a month.
  • Unreachable company?

The one star does not reflect the product, simply my frustrations in attempting to contact them with a simple question. Unless my question is on the FAQ categories I have no other option to contact. I’ve looked at the help centre, I’ve looked at the developers website, also the link to the app support – nothing, not even a chat option. If there is a link to get through to anybody, then I clearly am missing it, all the same it is very frustrating to spend this amount of time to ask the simplest of questions. I repeat, the one star does not reflect the product, but the contact options as I find them.

  • A must have for any smart home automation enthusiast.

I’ve had this app for years, s as bd for most cases you almost forget it’s running in the background. Until they added a subscription and rendered most of my applets useless.
To say I was begrudged is an understatement, and I vowed never to pay for such a limited service.
However over the years I have watch Ifttt turn into a smart home automation super hub. In fact I would go as far as saying there isn’t a credible smart device out there that hasn’t got ifttt integration in some shape or form.
Ifttt now offers multiple Actions to a Trigger, data queries, Java scripts, chatgpt access, and more.
Ifttt pro + is undoubtedly the most powerful tool I have to seamlessly integration all my smart home devices and fully unlocking the possibility of smart home automation. Pro is worth every penny.
I found the iOS app great, but it’s also WORTH visiting the website for an alternative perspective.
