Great app!
I share this app with my vegan (plant-based) friends to make shopping easier and faster for them. Not every product is represented in the app, of course, but many are. I use it several times each trip to the grocery store.
Ads!
I use many apps with ads but this app is just something else. When you’re stood in the supermarket wanting to scan a product, you don’t really have the time to be waiting a couple of minutes for a game ad to finish. Disappointing.
Not very accurate
Good idea, but not accurate. For example, I scanned a few things to see how it worked and it told me a certain bread had whey and milk in it when it is not on the packaging ingredients. Just read the ingredients. I would be second guessing this app all the time.
Missing Ingredients
Some iffy ingredients (like mono- and diglycerides) are missing from ingredients lists inside the app, and it marks them as vegan despite the possibility the ingredient is animal derived. I don’t know if this is an error on their part, or intentional deception, but their email page does not work and I can find no other way to contact them and make them aware. Double check the ingredient list in your hand matches the ingredient list on the app.

It doesn’t have everything, but it has a lot
It stays on the safe side and the app is cleanly designed. Info and FAQs are great. I will use it as a backup/second opinion scan.
Also, 25% to animal rights organizations absolutely cannot be ignored. I think people are being way too harsh. It is a 4 star for me but I will give it five for this reason.

Absolutely wonderful!
I’ve been vegan for almost three years now, and this still comes in handy. There are so many weird ingredients that have the possibility of being derived from animal products. This app helps so much when you’re a new vegan or if you’re unsure about something!
LIFE SAVER
idk how I would go grocery shopping without it taking five hours because I was reading ingredients without this. although it doesn’t have ALL items it has enough that is it very very helpful for me. I would totally recommend :)
Waste of time
It always says “not sure”. Even to famously vegan products from vegan companies. This app is straight up garbage.

I enjoy this app. I’ve been vegan for around seven months now, but still need help every now and again when it comes to ingredients in certain products.
Most of the time, when I scan a product, it will pop up in the app. However, every so often - and MORE often lately - I’ll get a message telling me the product isn’t found. As you can imagine, it gets pretty frustrating after a while. And would it be so hard to contact certain companies to find out if there “natural flavors” are, in fact, vegan?
Also, it would be FANTASTIC if you’d get rid of the ads that have sound. I can’t stand it when I’m in the middle of a store, scan a product, and then some random ad comes blaring out of my phone. It’s rather embarrassing. While you’re at it, discount your app. $5 is ridiculous.
